Our meal at The Kissflower was one of the highlights of our annual trip to Paonia. The food and ambiance were both magic, even with toddlers! I won’t recommend a specific dish since everything was amazing and the menu is based on fresh, local produce. We’ll be back!

I selfishly want to gatekeep this place, it’s such a gem. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was both rustic and artistic. This is truly one of the best restaurants in Colorado. We went for brunch and were blown away by the quality of the food. Everything was so fresh and perfectly balanced. We live two hours away, but we’ll gladly make the drive back to Paonia just for The Kissflower.

Such a special place. Like no other restaurant we have been. Food was amazing. Staff friendly and very helpful. Live music from Darian Lane added a great vibe to an already unbelievable atmosphere. Thank you, Kissflower! We’ll be back!!

Don’t get much more fam fresh than The Kissflower. Vibey music on the patio, quick service for a five star meal. The steak/salad/cornbread and Carrot Soup were all excellence and the cherry brownie with chocolate ice cream was the literal cherry on top to a phenomenal dine. The owner / chef Joe was very kind and brought us a gnocchi as lagniappe, we felt very at home here. Splendid start to Mountain Harvest Fest 2025

The food is incredible. Best steak I’ve ever had. The Chef really knows how take something simple and add a unique twist with tons of flavor. We drive from Denver just to have his food! Also I love that use of local ingredients. Highly recommend!

We came here for dinner on an overnight stay in Paonia. Our Bed and Breakfast host recommended this restaurant for dinner.
Atmosphere: The restaurant is located at the end of a state park past a trailer park, don’t let the entrance fool you. They had plenty of parking. There is ONLY outdoor seating so keep that in mind, especially during the heat of the summer. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. They have a lovely outdoor seating area with beautiful view of the mountains and you can look at their small garden.
Service: The service was great. Our food was brought promptly and everyone we encountered was friendly.
Food: The food was AMAZING. I live in Tampa, Florida and this chef can easily compete with professional chefs in Tampa. The food was soooo good. The chef changes the mean each week and cooks based off what’s available. The chef puts love into his food and it shows. We tried the ‘Baked Feta’ appetizer which was so good. It came with crostini and purslane. I’ve never eaten purslane before but it was so good. I had their ‘Bone Marrow Pasta’ and it was AMAZING. The pasta is homemade. My husband had their ‘Smoked Salmon Grower Bowl’ and loved it. They must smoke the salmon themselves because it did not look store bought. For dessert, we got their last slice of ‘Apricot Blueberry Pie’, the piece came with homemade vanilla ice cream. It was soo good. I can’t say enough good things about our dinner here. We came here around 5:30, on a Monday evening, and it was very busy by the time we left at 7 pm. I recommend come right when they open because they only cook items on the menu until they’re gone.

Beautiful seating area near the river. Nice simple selection of beer and wine. The Bronzini was so delicious, if you don’t mind getting the whole fish, it’s more than worth it. You can tell the Chef loves this place.

What a super find. This gentle restaurant/ experience was heaven on a hot July 4th. The location is wonderful and the whole place is thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. We arrived before service at 5pm and were graciously given a chef’s table behind the giant roller shutter. We greedily ordered almost everything on the very well priced menu – The salads were made with love, from hand picked and grown local produce, as was the fish (whole bronzini) and the burger was excellent too. Joe (aka Rude Boy) and the small crew (Paula and Theo) were a pleasure to meet and a joy to watch as they prepared fare for a truly happy mix of customers, locals and travelers. Magic happens in Paonia. Can’t wait to return!
