The vibe was spot on—good music at the right volume and everything was pristine, from the tables to the smudge-free utensils. The service was rare these days; I was greeted with a genuine smile the minute I walked in and felt completely taken care of. I never had to call for anything.
Now for the “juicier” parts: the drinks and food were incredible. The Natural Ginger Beer was fresh, and the River side Mule was the perfect touch—balanced and not too strong. For the main event, the Codfish / Saltfish Fritters were a standout start, followed by some of the best Jerk Pork and Fried Fish I’ve had. Finding a spot that does a side of Breadfruit this well really took it over the top. Shootout to management, staff and chefs, especially Natalie.
I’ve been to over 50 Caribbean restaurants, from corner spots to 5-star $300 dinners, and this absolutely made my Top 3.
If you made it to the end of this review, go visit for yourself; it’s worth the drive and every cent.
First impression means everything to me. After searching for years for Jamaica cuisine and I finally found it! TFK offered all of my favorite dishes. The food was exquisite! I love and appreciate the different style of preparation and presentation, with great taste. I missed out on the vanilla ice cream with my Bread Pudding, but it was still delicious with the strawberry drizzle. From entrance to exit, we were greeted and treated with kindness, compassion, and respect. Service was timely and friendly. I am looking forward to visiting again soon. Worth the wait and the price.
I ordered the pepper shrimp for $22 on Uber Eats, fully expecting real prawns — especially since they’re advertised that way. What I received looked like basic, frozen bag shrimp. Not prawns. Not head-on. Not authentic pepper shrimp.
Let’s be clear: pepper shrimp has a standard. And this was not it.
To make matters worse, the restaurant’s own website lists pepper shrimp for $12. So not only is there a pricing inconsistency, but charging $22 for what appears to be low-quality frozen shrimp feels misleading.
I regularly pay $7.99 at Golden Krust for 8 real, head-on pepper prawns done properly. So I know exactly what I’m supposed to be getting at this price point.
It honestly felt like one of those situations where you play with who you think won’t know the difference. But Caribbean food has a cultural standard — and some of us actually know it.
I reached out regarding my concerns and was not compensated or offered any meaningful resolution. I spent $115 in one setting smh.
Very disappointed…
Yessssssss!!!!! I had the sizzling macaroni and cheese and oxtails, my husband had the Roasted Thai style vegetable and Quinoa with Salmon.
Both plate presentations were like being in a 4 Star Restaurant. Our drinks were the Bob Marley, which was Irie! We had a great time and great food. We will definitely be back….
