To be honest it takes a lot to impress me enough to spend time writing a review. Bad Alberts is gratefully a little known secret where the bar service and the love behind each of the meals prepared should have a Michelin rating. One unique facet of this establishment is that you can actually sit and enjoy a conversation without having to yell in someone’s ear ( unless they have a special venue happening or the Seahawks just scored a touchdown!) Come on in and meet the owner Corey, the bar manager Nathan and the awesome cooks Don and Carlos, you will feel the love and passion.

I love Bad Albert’s! It’s such a great spot at the south end of Ballard Ave. Great food, great service and super relaxed. The result is a place where you always feel welcome. Corey, the General Manager believes in great service based on years of hospitality service, Juan, the Chef creates food on a whole new level. And I guess it all adds up to an incredible experience. My wife and I go there with our kids for brunch on weekends and the only issue we have is choosing what to have because it’s all so dang good. The Ballard Ave Cheesesteak with a side of Aujus is a total home run. But last week I had the Chicken fried steak breakfast with two fried eggs and it was the best meal I’ve had in a very long time, so I decided to go back today and try it again, normally I wouldn’t do this because, typically I would be disappointed on the second go, but today, somehow, it was even better than the first time.
I know I’m going on, but if you haven’t been to Bad Albert’s, do yourself a favor, head in for some amazing food, Great service, and a 100% Ballad experience.
PS. Great Bloody Mary’s too!

Bad Albert’s is small pub style venue in old Ballard where you can get beers on tap or by the bottle along with mixed drinks and wine. Stephen and I went for lunch. Besides our entrées we ordered a crisp chicken salad to share. I had the fish burger. It was okay, but nothing special at that price point. Stephen had a burger dip and thought it was very good. Both meals came with generous portion of large cut fries that made it to the table hot! The salad was okay. I wished they hadn’t over-cooked the chicken tenders. Although the menu did say crisp I wasn’t thinking the batter would be crunchy not the chicken. There are TV screens everywhere and each one broadcasting a different station. I liked the ambient background music, but also would had liked the subtitles turned on to follow the shows. FYI…they are no longer excepting Groupons so might want to trade that purchase back in for bucks.

BEST EVENING EVER!!!! It may have started bad then worse before this place SAVED the night. After being rejected at one pub, I told my partner I found another place. We looked at the menu and my partner excitedly said ‘They have fish and chips!’ After we sat down, the bartender greeted us with menus to look at while he went to attend the other customers. He came back after 5 minutes to take our orders and within 15 minutes our orders arrived hot and fresh. Best special burger I’ve had! No Best mac and cheese EVER!!! The bartender returned asking how is everything? ‘FANTASTIC’ This bartender checked on EVERYONE not just us. It wasn’t too busy just a few customers. Great service for a bartender alone on a slow Tuesday night.

Stopped in for lunch, LOVED IT! It’s a dive bar for sure but the service, the food, and the ambiance is top notch!

We split the Captain’s Platter and a few beers and spent just around $30 total. I liked the fried Alaskan cod, my partner thought it was lacking in flavor.

I wish I could give this place negative stars.
I have to admit that everything from the moment we walked into the restaurant on Saturday it was bad. Server didn’t get anything right ,didn’t know if you had iced tea even! Then tried to card the 17year old for a margarita pizza! After repeating back our whole order and the specifics it all came out wrong! And he forgot the pizza entirely!! We had to wait until end of meal for her to get her food. Then once we had to tell him it was wrong there was no I’m sorry or anything or offer of a discount or remake! No ketchup offered for the fries I didn’t order, no sauces offered,no water refill, no anything!
I wouldn’t have been as mad but I had friends from Arizona in town and it was super embarrassing. And also you don’t accept the Groupon we bought minutes before we arrived?! And they are still sold on Groupon as we speak?
I have worked in service industry for years( bartending, serving, management, busser, etc) so I’m not a stranger to how anything is done.
We were only people in the place so it couldn’t be because they were busy.
And to top it off they charged me x5!!!!!
That was over $500 of charges!!!
They fixed it a few days later ,but not before I had over draft fees and fees for automatic payments on other things.
Photo is of my medium rare steak. Looks delicious doesn’t it?
