Gather around the messob ( a hand-sewn traditional table made of grass blades) made for a group to eat from the same platter. It is said that the people who eat from the same plate will never betray one another. Great first time experience. We shared a 2-person sampler with another couple which was more than enough when coupled with a small appetizer. Everything was delicious and just what you would expect for a family owned ethnic restaurant.

I love Abyssinia! The sampler platter is my go-to, but everything is great. Make time for the coffee ceremony, if you can. It’s a really fun experience.

Amazing and full filling. The Chef, her hands are blessed. We have tried quite a few Ethiopian places but this is a place we will certainly go back to.

Great food. Ordered something with bread. The flavors and spices were amazing. The hot tea was delicious. They serve Ethiopian beer and wine. There is a hand washing station to wash your hands before you eat. The decoration inside is beautiful. The tables were clean and all of the cups were clean.

I only get takeout from this restaurant. The food is excellent, with great flavor and generous portions. During my last two visits, there has been an issue with payment. I order online directly from their website.

The last time I went to pick up my food, the owner(?)/host told me that he hadn’t received my payment. I showed him the confirmation email (…..which I received because I paid). The owner was still uncertain about the transaction, but said he would “let it go” and fill my order, as if I hadn’t paid. I ended up having to place my order in person and wait for my food again, even though I had already ordered online. After all of this, I noticed that the portions were much smaller than usual. The lamb was a bit overcooked, but this is not the norm for them.

It’s usually good food and I like to support small businesses, but this was disappointing.

The empty platter says it all…The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. Very flavorful, and made for a great date night. The service was also top tier. The owner was kind enough to bring me this spicy sauce when I told him I like spicy food. We’ll certainly come back!

This is some of the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had! If you need gluten free injera you just have to call in advance and they will make sure to have it for you! The service is excellent and the staff is so kind. I always make sure to come here whenever I’m in Indy.

This was a fantastic place to go to grab some Ethiopian food. It’s quite a bit more exotic than what you typically get in this country, with an entire palette of new flavors to try.

We had the TA2 combination plate, which had a great variety of dishes to try. All of them were delicious and flavorful. We shared a platter among two adults and two children and it was generous to cover all of us.

The food was very good. The portions were enough for one person. The service was late. The coffee ceremony was very unique. The coffee pot was $25 shared by 5 people but was worth it. I would suggest getting individual dishes instead of the sampler. The baklava was very dry don’t recommend it.

Fantastic food! Highly recommend you give it a try! Bf is vegetarian so I was trying to find somewhere we could dine and I’ve had Ethiopian once in Cleveland and it was good but it’s been a while. We got the vegetarian vegan platter which is a sampling of nearly all the vegetarian dishes they have. It was so good!! Just a great mix of flavors and I love being able to eat a different flavor with each bite. We also got a pot of the Ethiopian tea, some sort of blend similar to chai tea, very good!
