Social Profile:

At Kibo, we believe the term hope can answer all life’s problems. From what to eat to where to eat at, Hope is your answer. Derived our name from the Japanese interpretation of Hope (希望 kibō), Kibo Sushi House was born simply because we believe greatly in hope. Hope – in the sense that if you work hard, you will always be rewarded one way or another. As we embed this belief into our restaurant, from selecting fresh, local ingredients; to cooking them with love and serving them to your table with our bright smiles; we hope that you enjoy and appreciate all that we put into your favourite dishes.

Relaxed, brick-walled Japanese eatery serving traditional fare such as sushi & noodle dishes.

We were in the area and wanted to try this place. The sushi was amazing, fresh and quickly done, prices are also reasonable and the server was very friendly

This restaurant was up and running even during the heavy blizzard we had at the beginning of the year, and I was so impressed with the commitment of all people working there, despite the 1 meter of snow outside.

The person who waited at our table was very precise in taking the order, very helpful with her recommendations, and attentive in general.

The food is pleasant, exactly what you might expect from a North American sushi restaurant. And everything was fresh.

Average all around, ok quality but nothing to write home about.

Salmon was decent flavour a little soggy, cuts could have could have been more defined

came for the tempura which I heard was the best ever, I must’ve had an off batch that day. Shrimp was mushy inside, no bite at all.

California roll was good but did not hold together when dipped in soya.

Spicy salmon was definitely not what I expected, a sweet mayo type sauce really threw me off

I did enjoy the miso soup, it was well balanced almost like it came out of a package

Garden salad was quite enjoyable, mixed greens was a nice touch, dressing had a nice flavour I just could not clearly identify but was the best part of my meal

Don’t forget — there’s a 10% discount if you pay in cash!

I had the most amazing sushi experience — this is hands down the best sushi spot in Toronto!
The karaage was absolutely delicious, especially the honey garlic flavor — seriously a must-try!

Their platters were generous, beautifully arranged, and everything tasted incredible.
The sashimi was fresh and top quality.

This is the perfect restaurant for a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday.
Highly recommended — can’t wait to come back!

*Good to note there is a 10 percent discount on cash payments.
Great bang for your buck Sushi location with nice servers. Portion sizes are big for what you pay for. Ordered the 2 person meal set that featured appetizers and rolls which we enjoyed. The rolls are good while the side dishes aren’t exactly the highest quality although still satisfactory. For quick, easy and relatively cheap sushi this is a good spot.

I used to live in Japan and have very high standards for sushi. Kibo Sushi is truly one of the best for me.

The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the servers always make me feel welcome.

I’ve been coming to this location for several years, and the quality of their sushi never fails to make me happy.

This place is absolutely kids unfriendly and the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional! We went there with our 3 year old kid who was just sitting at the table (no running, no crying, no tantrums) and sharing about his day. Couple minutes later the server (her name is Sam) comes to us and orders to “make the kid silent”. She repeated it at least 3 times in a way she was ready to kick us out! We are in a public place and everyone is allowed to talk, however, the server was insisting to make the child stop talking. It’s the only location where we were asked to stay silent in such a rude manner! Never had any issues in other locations. That day the food was absolutely horrible as well, sushi was falling apart and some of the dishes didn’t look like in the picture at all. We were extremely disappointed with the service, food and attitude given us!

Friendly staff and meals served in a restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Food was tasty and well prepared. However I took a star off for authenticity. Most of my food was not Japanese. The chicken Karaage is more like Korean fried chicken. It was made completely of chicken white meat. Real Karaage is always thigh meat rolled in potato starch and is not usually served with dipping sauce. Kibo’s karaage had the completely wrong flavor and texture. Same with the chicken yaki udon I was served, the flavor profile is completely wrong for a japanese dish, it was much closer to Korean noodles. While both dishes were well prepared and tasty, they were not Japanese. I’m not a food snob, but when I go to a Japanese restaurant, I kind of expect Japanese food.

3 of us went for dinner at Kibo Sushi House last night. The staff very extremely friendly and fast. I love the ambiance in the restaurant. Brick walls and very decorative. I had the bento box which was tasty, but for 14.99 and without any sushi was a little steep in my books. My guests had 2 sushi specials that were delicious too. The portion size was enough to fill us up. We will be back here for sure.
