This was the worst chicken biryani I have ever had in the United States.
The rice was very sticky and clumped together.
It did not taste fresh or properly cooked.
The chicken leg pieces were watery and had a very bad smell.
The quality of the food was extremely disappointing.
The flavor was bland and unpleasant.
We informed the waiter about the issue and asked him to call the manager.
However, he was not responsive to our request.
No effort was made to resolve the problem.
Overall, it was a very disappointing and unpleasant dining experience.

The aromatics of the lamb curry I ordered were very well balanced. The garlic naan had a nice addition of fresh parsley and the portion size is pretty good due to how filling the dish is. They don’t seem to do bone-in lamb pieces, they inquire about your preferred spice level on a scale of 1 to 10 so it’s Westerner friendly as well. I’m excited that I found a new restaurant for myself

This is my first time dining at Bombay Olive since the new owners took over. The space has undergone a renovation and remodel so it looks great and they will be finishing the addition of a bar in a few weeks. The menu has been updated and the food is delicious. This is definitely the best indian food in the area and the spices are spot on.

Bombay Olive has become one of those places I visit every time I’m in Carbondale. The food is consistently flavorful and satisfying, and it is our place for relaxed family dinners and meals with friends.
Over many visits, the dishes have been reliably tasty. The Palak Paneer, Gobi 65, Bhindi Masala, and the Garlic Naan or Butter Naan are the repeats for us. The Biryani is authentic Hyderabad style as well!
The dining room is comfortable and unpretentious, and it lends well for many an easy and laidback family dinners. The staff are consistently polite, efficient, and thoughtful.
If you enjoy flavorful Indian food and a warm place to sit and talk over a good meal, Bombay Olive is well worth a visit!

Updated: The food has improved under the new management, with the addition of some new dishes. When I visited yesterday (9/4/24), they were in the middle of renovations, building a bar area and adding more seating. Currently, they’re only offering carryout due to the construction, but they aim to finish and reopen for dining next week. I appreciated that they called to let me know my takeout order was ready, which saved me from waiting. I hope they keep that up. With a new Indian restaurant across town, good customer service is more important than ever.

I recently dined at Bombay Olive and had an amazing experience. Starting with the veg appetizers, I tried the Gobi Manchurian and Chilli Paneer – both were flavorful and had the perfect balance of spices. For non-veg, the Chilli Chicken was delicious, but the standout for me was the Chicken 555 – it’s an absolute must-try and my personal favorite!
For the main course, they offer a variety of biryanis that have a true South Indian biryani flavor, which I loved. The breads were fantastic too, especially the Butter Naan and Garlic Naan – soft, fresh, and buttery.
Overall, a great place for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, with something for everyone!

Bombay Olive food is so delicious and authentic, my husband and I decided to have it for our Thanksgiving meal celebration! We ordered large entrees of lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, kandai paneer, goat curry and chana masala. Our order came with biryani rice, naan sample plates, samosas with orange chutney, tamarind sauce, mint sauce. We added raitas, falafels and mango lassis. We are looking forward to many mouth-watering leftovers. Best Thanksgiving meal yet!
