Simply THE BEST fried fish I ever had, EVER!!!
I am not a catfish person but the way this was prepared was truly amazing. The breading was perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy. The fish was not too gamy, had a great flavor and was super moist.
The fried chicken wings were also amazing, as were the salmon croquets! Go with a few people so you can order a bunch of items and eat there so you are eating as good is ready.
Thank you for doing what you do with the love you do it with! Locals here are very lucky to have a place like this.

Recently moved to the area and was told to go here by a local. I am so glad it did! The food tasted like it came out of grandma’s kitchen. I got the smothered pork chops with greens, cabbage, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, and corn bread. The pork was mouth watering . My son got the BBQ rib tips, the creamiest mac and cheese (his favorite item), and corn bread. To drink we had to get their Arnold Palmer (sweet tea & lemonade). Such a meal needed to be finished off with a slice of carmel cake.
I knew this spot was gonna be great the moment I walked it because I could smell the soul food in the air! I paid a little over $30 and the portions mean I have a meal for later! If you find yourself over in the Parkland neighborhood, make sure you go to this gem. We’ll find out way back, for sure!

We got the baked chicken with Mac and cheese and cabbage. The baked chicken was dry and Luke warm. The Mac and cheese was not good at all soggy noodles and
runny, the cabbage was alright. Not my personal preference. My bf got the fried chicken with fried potatoes and Mac. His chicken was juicy and well seasoned, nice and hot. The fried potatoes were really good as well. The banana pudding is more like a yogurt with strawberries and wafers. It was ok but not my type of banana pudding when it comes to soul food, southern style banana pudding. The customer service was great though the ladies were pretty quick and kind. Im from Atlanta so I’m used to real southern style cooking. probably won’t be back

Well this is an odd sort of review because this place is established and has fairly decent foot traffic but the food is at best marginal. Maybe it’s so you can go home and season to taste but isn’t that why you paid for?
From this excursion one meal was a pork chop and with gravy, sweet potatoes, mixed veggies and corn bread. Not very good at all but the presentation was nice and the sweet potatoes saved it. Second meal was fried chicken Mac and cheese and cabbage. This meal was apparently seasoned much better and enjoyed.
Might be hit or miss but people in the area sure drawn to it so at least give it a try!

Delicious soul food and warm hospitality. We came on a Sunday and got the stuffed chicken breast and dressing, cornbread, collard greens, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, and banana pudding with strawberries. Everything was delicious and tasted like being back at mamaws dinner table.

The breading used for this chicken is on another level of greatness. My two pieces were salty though..also my beans were very salty so based on this I think it’ll be hit or miss. I tasted other family members chicken and it was fine. More than fine it was amazing so consistency may be a small issue here but the likelihood is that your chicken pieces will be five star taste. The sides were good. Dessert options are okay. Overall the chicken is whats important here and that was really good.

This ain’t it the smothered pork chops drowned in pale onion gravy topped with large onion pieces. The pork chops are baked has a lot of fat on them. expected them to be fried topped with home made brown gravy. and the macaroni last Sunday I had was mushy. The other sides I’ve had are okay. May the Lord rest Big Momma soul the food is definitely not the same. I ate one time after Big momma wasn’t around no more and it was disgusting then I see nothing has changed. Somebody bought me this food after telling them I don’t like the restaurant no more since Big momma gone. Guess he thought he could change my mind. I still stand on how I feel looking at the pork chops smothered makes me sick. Not pleasing to even look at.
