Top notch food, service, and ambience. The a5 wagyu was so soft and buttery, sushi and sashimi are actually quite good (better than a lot of the sushi restaurants), drink options are great (calpico, milk tea, grapefruit green tea), self serve station is awesome though I didn’t try any of the raw seafood stuff, broth options are nice, and we didn’t even get to the fried stuff because it was too much food.

Soft serve is pretty meh, I’d rather have something tarty than vanilla or chocolate to refresh my taste buds.

All in all, absolutely would come back. Not cheap but definitely very high quality!

I recently visited the newly opened Mikiya Wagyu Shabu Shabu in Irvine and it immediately set a new standard for premium hot pot in Orange County.

The restaurant is elegant and comfortable, with attentive, professional service throughout the meal. We opted for the Diamond tier set for two, and it was absolutely worth every penny. The A5 Wagyu was exceptional — richly marbled, buttery, and undeniably some of the finest beef I’ve ever tasted. Paired with pristine fresh sashimi and a generous seafood platter featuring plump prawns, scallops, and abalone, every element of the set felt thoughtfully curated and of the highest quality.

The broths were perfectly balanced, the vegetables crisp and fresh, and the selection of dipping sauces elevated the entire experience. From start to finish, the attention to ingredient quality and execution was impeccable.

Mikiya delivers a truly luxurious shabu-shabu experience and is well worth indulging in for a special occasion or whenever you want to treat yourself to something extraordinary. Mikiya Irvine has quickly become my top recommendation in the area — I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Highly recommended. Welcome to Irvine!

This place is incredible. We just happened to notice it was open today (it’s their first day) so we came in. We will definitely be back.

The quality of the meat and vegetables was excellent. The sukiyaki and house broth are must-try. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Everyone took the time to explain the menu/concept. They keep everything clean and clear empty plates quickly.

They have a milk tea bar and soft serve, as well as the veggie and sauce bar. They also have curry and a fancy rice dispenser. The bathrooms were clean and the open kitchen looked very clean too, even though it was busy.

This is not your average shabu restaurant. This is UNLIMITED Japanese A5 wagyu, and no, it’s not too good to be true. This is the brand new Mikiya in Irvine which is part of the Chubby Group so you know we’re already in for a good time.

There was literally sooo much on the menu to try, the highlight ofc being the AH-MAZING cuts of Japanese A5 wagyu.

And, if you love seafood, you can order as many hand rolls, sashimi, and crab legs as you want!

And I was obsessed with their rice-dispensing machine with unlimited curry and wagyu meat sauce that you could help yourself to.

I only go for the most expensive stuff when it’s unlimited, as one should 😉 but I was pleasantly surprised because the sides are also sooo worth getting, like the bone marrow toast… unreal.

We got the Diamond tier for $98 per person but they have cheaper options.

I’m being so fr with you guys, like it’s not cheap but it is SO good especially for a special occasion 🙂

Thanks for reading! ^-^

Ok so you have to come here hungry. This is an awesome AYCE shabu shabu place from the Chubby Group. We got the silver and the meat quality and variety was already great. You can certainly get the higher tiers but I found the Silver had the best bang for your buck. The meat was tender and flavorful and the unlimited tea and sashimi were also good. This is definitely a must try if you like hotpot/shabu shabu!

It can get busy so I would get a reservation.

Not cheap, but we had a great team-building event at Mikiya. When we arrived at 5 PM on a Wednesday, I was a bit worried because there was no line and only two tables were occupied. However, by 6 PM the place was completely full. We were glad we arrived early since our orders came out very quickly. All the food was delicious, and our server was kind and efficient.

Alvin was the best waiter I’ve had in an all you can eat buffet! He was super kind and patient. He explained all of the items on the menu with care and always came by to our table to check up on us and clear our plates.

He gave amazing recommendations for food and combos that I wouldn’t have thought of. Food was amazing and Alvin’s exceptional service made everything taste even better. Highly recommend coming again, give Alvin a raise

We have been to many different Chubby Cattle locations and the food quality seems to be quite consistent. This one is no different and the sashimi, especially the yellowtail is pretty fresh as well as most of the meat except the shrimp from seafood platter. However, we are quite frustrated by our waiter as he kept pushing us to leave and saying the next group is waiting for the table right at 90 minutes mark while we still have some food not even served yet. By the time our fried chicken finally arrived and he say we need to leave now and end up wasting that plates untouched. First time experiencing this situation while we never had any issue at any other location regardleas BBQ or shahu. Anyway, if you want to have enough time dining with your friends or families without being rush out, this location might not be a good one for you.
