Oh, I wanted to like this place! It looked so cool from the outside and I’m always looking for new spots that mix two of my favorite past times: art and drinking coffee. The building itself is welcoming, nicely decorated, and large. There were different types of seating for different needs and party size. I would have loved to grab a seat but it was packed.
One thing I do not like about some coffee shops is when they don’t have a few curated drinks to choose from when it’s your first time there. I don’t know what flavors are good there and would like to be given some options. All I saw on the menu was mocha/white mocha, caramel macchiato and pumpkin spice. I ordered a safe white mocha. Asked about the food and was told that everything was made fresh. I ordered the breakfast burrito.
The ordering and experience with the staff was mixed. The lady that took my order wasn’t helpful and was kind of short with me. The gentleman that made my coffee was nice and the lady who prepared the food was friendly.
The “freshly” made food was a breakfast burrito wrapped in plastic and taken out of the fridge and placed in their oven. I wasn’t too happy or impressed with the burrito overall. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse but for $9.50 it’s something I’ll never order again. The white mocha was very mild and sweet. I could barely taste the espresso in it. I could see some liking it that way, but I’d prefer a little more flavor. If I go back maybe I’ll add a shot to my next drink.

Went in for a quick coffee break the other morning and ended up staying a bit longer than planned. The place has a relaxed feel, not too loud, not too quiet, which I liked. I ordered a medium latte and a pastry. Coffee was smooth and not overly bitter, tasted fresh enough. The pastry was warm, maybe not baked in house but still decent. Staff was polite and didn’t rush me even though it got busy for a few minutes. Seating was clean and spaced out, good for sitting and working or just zoning out.

I went in the other morning just looking for a quick pick-me-up, and the place actually turned out pretty nice. The latte I got was smooth, not overly sweet, and the barista made it pretty fast even though there were a couple folks ahead of me. Seating was a bit limited, but I managed to find a small corner table to enjoy my drink. The vibe was relaxed, kind of cozy without being too fancy. Prices were pretty average for a coffee spot. Overall, good place to grab a cup if you’re in the area, nothing overly special but definitely a pleasant stop.

Only place in downtown stockton that doesn’t feel like downtown stockton. Atmosphere is great, staff are friendly. Love the coffee, pastries and other food.

I really wanted to love this place. The concept is great, the space has potential but unfortunately, the service ruined the entire experience.

The man who appears to be in charge was extremely rude to both me and my niece. The attitude was obvious, uncomfortable, and unprofessional. What made it worse is that this behavior seemed rooted in personal feelings, not anything related to business or customer service. Whatever the reason, personal issues should never spill over into how customers especially children are treated.

This is a business, not a place for ego or personal grievances. If someone can’t separate their feelings from their role, they shouldn’t be in a leadership position. Humility and professionalism go a long way, and unfortunately, neither were present during our visit.

I won’t be returning, and I hope management takes a hard look at how staff especially leadership interacts with the community. A great vision means nothing if the execution lacks basic respect.

The Well in Stockton, California is a must-stop for anyone looking for a trendy coffee shop with unique seating options, friendly staff, and amazing food. This hidden gem offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff’s warm welcome and exceptional service make you want to stay all day. The food is simply amazing, with great salads and handmade dressings. From the perfectly brewed coffee to the delicious pastries and sandwiches, everything is made with care and attention to detail. A place you will be welcomed and remembered with each visit. The Well is definitely the place to be in Stockton, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great coffee experience.

I love The Well. Everyone is so friendly and always remembers me. The hot tea is a must if you plan on sitting and relaxing for awhile. The pizza is huge and can totally be shared but my favorite is the avocado toast. It is so tasty and perfect when paired with their sweet white mocha. I haven’t found anything that I didn’t love. Great ambience and my new favorite spot to sit, read a book and relax with a nice drink or lunch. A must to check out for all locals!

Finally a coffee shop with its own unique charm to it! It’s modernly chic but yet grounded with some cute antique style. The coffee also tastes fantastic and you can never go wrong with just a classic Italian soda … i will be returning here.

Also note that it was pretty packed here but I was with my boyfriend and we were able to find somewhere to sit still

I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and reliability from this venue. I reached out on Wednesday, 11/26, inquiring about hosting my mother’s funeral reception on December 5th. I was clearly told the date and hours we needed were available and that documents would be sent to finalize the booking on Monday, 12/1, due to the holiday weekend. I even asked multiple times to confirm there were no issues with availability.

Come Monday, instead of receiving the promised paperwork, I was suddenly told that another event requires setup the night before, something that was never mentioned as a potential conflict, and that our reception would now only be allowed to use the space for basically one hour. This is completely unrealistic and unacceptable, especially after being assured the date was ours and that everything would be finalized today.

Because of their poor communication and last-minute change, we are now left scrambling with almost no time to find another location for my mother’s funeral reception. You cannot plan for a loss in the family, and during an already devastating time, their lack of transparency and follow-through added unnecessary stress.

The staff proved to be unreliable and unprofessional, and I would strongly caution anyone considering this venue. If you rely on their word, you may end up disappointed as we were. Our experience was deeply disheartening, especially given the nature of the event we were trying to plan.
