I liked this place, good overall. Service was ok could be more friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Felt a little rushed, but the food was good, and a good portion. Was a little bit pricey in my opinion. 14.99 for the California wrap and +2.50 to sub my fries for sweet potato fries.

Hands down, the absolute best, most authentic Mexican restaurant in all of Rockland County! I’ve tried Sangrias, Playa Cancun, and many other places, and none of them comes close to Estrella. This is a must try if you want real Mexican cuisine. They also have amazing breakfast and their banana foster French toast is delicious! My only complaint is that they’re overpriced for many things. For a little hole in the wall, the prices shouldn’t reflect that of a fine dining restaurant.

It seems that the owner has partnered with another former restaurant owner of another restaurant, and they changed the rice, and it’s not good! They used to have delicious rice, which I found to be the tastiest rice for a Mexican cuisine, which normally is fairly bland in other Mexican restaurants. So their rice used to stand out, but now that this new partner has stepped in, the rice tastes like bland rice pilaf from a diner….it’s terrible. Prices have also gone up. I used to love this place and I haven’t returned since these changes have been made. One thing that’s so important & keeps customers coming back is “consistency”. Once you change something (especially for the worse), you lose customers that way. They unfortunately lost me.

Service was amazing. Melvin is the ultimate hostess. Food was phenomenal. Definitely saving this place in my list of must eats. We had the stuffed chicken, the lobster paella and the octopus Also Sangria was delicious. The flan is very good. Not overly sweet and fresh they make it in house.

A friend highly recommend this Cafe spot as the best food. When the waitress asked if I was ready I said yes I am looking for a vegetarian dish as the one specials all had meat as the main dish I opted for a western omelet and she macne, stating that the dish contained ham and that was meat. Although I know what ham is and what it contained, it was my choice. How much meat I wanted in the plate and what kind of meat her attitude was incredibly the worst in customer service ever. Thank God I didn’t eat there and I just sat there watching my friend eat. I couldn’t even bear to think that I would taste anything knowing how rude she was. I was afraid that she would go to the back and spit on my food

Interior is bright and fun. We arrived around 11am on a Saturday and were seated immediately.
Lots of menu options, with a good mix of American food and Mexican food. We ordered the Enchiladas Verde con Bistec, Tlacoyos, Picaditas, Malinesa de Pollo, and Pollo en Crema. Everything was delicious, and everyone who ordered from the Mexican section of the menu had more than enough to take home. Food came pretty quickly.
Parking is a bit limited and street only.

Holy cow this place is fantastic! And I’m a harsh critic.
Wonderully decorated. Huge menu. Flavorful home-made food, authentic Mexican, but plenty of choices for people who aren’t into Mexican food. Easygoing, friendly and attentive service. Alcohol.
We went for breakfast. And. They make their own fresh squeezed orange juice! Served in a big glass. Delicious!
I asked if they have fried ice cream. It wasn’t on the menu, but they made it for me anyway. Plus, it was served on fire!
We’re not local, but I plan to come here again whenever I’m at all in the area. There are so many other things on the menu I want to try!

It’s not fair to only give 5 stars….this is the ONLY PLACE IN ROCKLAND that should have a 60 min wait. You will not eat anywhere with this quality/price/service other than getting in a plane and flying internationally.
From FRESH Sangria made daily (red and white) to only the FRESHEST fish/meat / veggies.. this restaurant is 10 stars.. the pictures will prove it -just wait…..
I’m ashamed to say that I never went for lunch/dinner until tonight. I went for breakfast for over 10 years.. shame on me!
We already plan on going back tomorrow evening.

Great breakfast I have been hearing great things for a long time and tried it out for the first time and it was delicious and exceeded my expectations. They have Mexican and American dishes, very fresh, homemade dishes. I would say this is the best breakfast in the area.
