Where to start, we’ll it’s been over 15 years sense I have been to this restaurant and alot has changed, first off the food quality has gone down a little but my server Sarah was fantastic from the moment I was seated till I payed and left she was 100% on point with everything from meal order, to keeping my drink full and always checking on her guests and making sure they are happy and taken care of. It was honestly the best service I have ever had in a restaurant setting she is absolutely amazing. When I come back ill make sure to ask for Sarah and everyone else should as well.

This place is GREAT. The friendliest staff that not only treat customer great & are very welcoming, but they work together so good. The salad bar was excellent, & the steak & baked potato was perfect. Cooked just like I ordered it with no steak sauce needed (although it was offered). Backwoods beats any of the chain steakhouse hands down. DEFINITELY worth veering off the beaten path for.

The people were great. We had a group of 23 people. The staff was attentive and did great with all of us. The food was good but not amazing. With that many people in our party, there were some issues. But again, we had 23 people so….. the price was way too high.

Super disappointing. Drove 55 min to get there because we were told it was the best steak around and Hubby wanted to do something special for Mother’s Day. Upon arriving, we were told there was just a 15-minute wait but it turned into more than 45 minutes. Once inside, we were at a round-table pushed up against the wall so my seat just faced the wood. Even though it was a steakhouse, there were very few choices of steak and no steak on the kids meal. Kids could not have salad and the salad bar literally had six choices (which included an orange tinted potato salad and bland coleslaw). Extremely disappointing. The bread was not cooked all the way and kind of sour tasting. But the most disappointing was the steak itself. It was not cooked right but that didn’t matter because it was nothing but fat. Mine and hubby’s plates looked the same — very little meat. We left hungry. Not to mention the bathrooms are like outhouses in the waiting area. In fact, the sink IS in the waiting area. While waiting to use one of the two restrooms, a child in one of them was throwing up repeatedly. His mom came out and told me not to go in and then I watched her walk to the counter and tell management what had happened and that they needed to have someone disinfect the toilet. While I stood there waiting for the other stall, I watched as many people went in and out of that bathroom and management did nothing about it. They didn’t even put up a do not use sign until they could disinfect it. There is no telling how many people left that night sick. Needless to say, we felt like we wasted 2 hours driving out. The one thing I will say is that the kid’s hamburger was very big. The only problem was that they gave us no choice of sides. They just sent out french fries and my kids don’t like those. No healthy options for little ones.

We’ve lived close to the Backwoods Steakhouse for years and have heard wonderful reviews, so we made a visit. It surpassed our expectations!! We loved the view from the rear seating and saw Goats, Emu’s, and Highlands enjoying their day against a beautiful farm backdrop. The service and food were TOP NOTCH!
I’m not even exaggerating to say it was the best steak I’ve ever eaten.
We’ve already made a second visit and it was equally impressive. It’s a new favorite date night locale for us. Highly recommended.

Our first trip to Backwoods in a while. I ordered the 2 piece catfish filet. They were so tiny. No hushpuppues on the plate and the baked potato wasn’t cooked long enough- Service was slow… and, they weren’t even busy which was a shocker- back in the day you had to wait to be seated.
We drove by better restaurants to eat there. Won’t be going back. So sad to see a great place go down like this..

This place was amazing, best service I’ve had at a restaurant in years. They know what they’re doing here! Food was great, the ride out there is beautiful, the place was clean and the people were very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a romantic evening, loves rural areas etc… You wont find better service, prices or location than this. I will be going back as often as possible.

What an AMAZING restaurant! The food is so good and very flavorful. The spicy peel and eat shrimp are huge and are well worth the money. Note that it is cash only, no credit cards, however, they have an ATM on site. 5*****

We’ve been back twice since they reopened and wow! Their Ribeyes are soft as butter and their spicy grilled shrimp was off the chain! Did I mention the rolls and their amazing salad bar? Friendly staff and it’s in a beautiful location. Wonderful place!
