Chit Chat Diner: Views for Days, Service is Great, Food Needs Consistency
We stopped by Chit Chat Diner for a weekend brunch, and let me start by saying that the location and ambiance alone are worth the visit! The views of the valley and the NYC skyline are truly amazing, making this a prime spot for a photo-op or a slow, leisurely meal. The decor is phenomenal–it’s clear they put a ton of effort into making this a visually stunning space.
The service was top-notch; our server was very friendly and welcoming. We even had a delightful interaction where the manager shared the Chit Chat card game with us, which was a fun and unique touch that definitely added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Now, for the food–this is where things were a little hit-or-miss.
The Hits:
* The Bourbon Burger with fries was fantastic! Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend for lunch.
* The Greek yogurt bowl was amazing, filled with fresh, vibrant fruits. A great, light option.
* We both thoroughly enjoyed the Vanilla Caramel Latte, which was served hot and had just the right amount of sweetness–not overly sugary at all.
The Misses/Just Okay:
* The pancakes were unfortunately not the best. Skip those if you’re looking for fluffy perfection.
* The braised short ribs and egg tacos I ordered were decent–not bad, but nothing to rave about.
* My wife got the meat lovers breakfast, and she felt it was just okay.
Overall: Chit Chat Diner offers a fun experience with killer views, beautiful design, and super friendly service. It’s an ideal place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. If the kitchen can tighten up the consistency on the brunch items, this place would easily be five stars! Come for the vibe, the burger, and the coffee!

The place is huge for one. It’s a beautiful, dark almost Gothic designed building where the inside is filled with black tree branches, these beautiful chandeliers and other artifacts. The menu is amazing and modern. The specials are interesting and new and our servers have been great! I highly recommend going.

This is definitely one of my all-time favorite diners to go to. There’s a reason this place is always busy with a wait — the food is consistently excellent.

I went on a Friday around lunchtime and was pleasantly surprised that we were seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and made sure our waters were always filled.

We all ordered breakfast and loved our choices. I had the Nutella bacon French toast, my mother got the plain French toast with fruit, and my fiancé ordered the Belgian waffle — everything was delicious. The prices are also very fair for the quality and portions.

I always enjoy coming here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great breakfast or brunch spot.

Happy with our dining experience. My father wanted us to experience it. And what an experience. Great decor with great food. We had quick seating before the after church rush. The service was prompt and exceptionally courteous. French was on point along excellent fried chicken mash potatoes and corn. Our party of eight were happy and satisfied.

A restaurant themed around Alice in Wonderland. Very dreamy and perfect for taking photos for Instagram and Facebook. The food was just average that typical of a large chain restaurant. There were many guests, so the service wasn’t great… too busy to offer water or coffee. But it’s still a good option for occasionally meeting up with friends for a meal and chat.

I always go to the one in Hackensack/Maywood! I was shocked at how big this location was and the extra decor vs. the other location. It was super cute! I customized a brunch order and the kitchen made it exactly how I wanted it as I was trying to be healthy lol. I essentially ordered a quinoa bowl with sunny side up eggs. My biscuit was made to perfection and the fig jam was fresh with a good amount of sweetness. I also ordered a coco cold brew which basically was cold brew with coconut milk. If you prefer a sweeter drink, this isnt sweet, but it was perfect for me as I dont like overly sweet coffee. My cousin ordered the Long Island Coffee and said it was delicious and worth $20.

My cousin’s burger was very good and flavorful. Our service was great. The waitress was friendly, patient and efficient.

First visit here, was only here for a quick espresso a dessert to satisfy any sweet tooth. I was really happy about all of the fruit that was included with the Key Lime Pie, which was an added bonus. Sat at the counter and was quickly engaged with the staff. Looking forward to getting breakfast soon.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at this establishment while visiting the neighborhood. The atmosphere is visually stunning, bearing a resemblance to the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland. The service was acceptable and the culinary offerings were outstanding. The cost of $91.91 for lunch for three people struck me as somewhat pricey, but ultimately, I found the experience to be enjoyable. If I were to find myself in the neighborhood again, I would not hesitate to return to this establishment.

This is not your typical diner. The food may be, but the location and atmosphere is quite unique! Overlooking the lights of NYC, this Alice in Wonderland themed space is a delight to experience. If I lived here, this would be my go to diner for sure!
