Went there for restaurant week. Top notch food and experience. Served was really friendly and checking in with us. Wagyu steak was my favorite. Very juicy. Tuna tartare is amazing, very refreshing. Piña colada sundae is very delicious with coconut flakes which adds texture to it. Only thing is we had a reservation, arrived on time but still had to wait for around 15min before seated.

We had an outstanding experience at RPM Steak. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt upscale yet comfortable. The staff was attentive, professional, and made us feel truly welcome.
The steaks were exceptional—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly high-quality cuts. The sides and appetizers were just as impressive, especially the seafood tower and the truffle fries. Everything was presented beautifully.
Service was timely, the drinks were fantastic, and the entire dining experience felt well-curated from start to finish. RPM Steak is definitely one of the best steakhouses in Chicago, and I highly recommend it for a special night out or any time you want a top-tier meal.

The service and overall ambiance were excellent. I was really excited to dine here, and our waiter was kind, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately, the food did not meet the expectations set by the restaurant’s reputation and pricing.
The tomahawk steak was good, but it didn’t justify the $270 price tag—it felt like a fairly basic Wagyu preparation for the cost. The beef tartare was also underwhelming. I did enjoy the truffle fries, though I wish they were paired with a sauce that elevated the dish; the one provided was overly salty.
As it was our anniversary, we were given a very large cotton candy, which felt more gimmicky than thoughtful. Additionally, there were no complimentary items like bread, soup, or chips, which are typically offered at restaurants in this price range.
Overall, despite great service and atmosphere, the experience didn’t feel worth the money.

Went during restaurant week. The onion soup is surprisingly savory. The lobster is served with red miso sauce, which is a great and innovative combo. The steak is pretty good, but doesn’t feel like medium rare.

Overall 4/5 Rating. Had lots of potential to be a five star rating. I came here for my Fiancés 27th birthday. We were quick to be seated and all notes I left on the reservation were accommodated. It did take a little while to be greeted but not over 10 mins so it was ok. The server did help answer any questions I had and guided us through the menu. We placed a Tomahawk steak, mashed potatoes, and spinach along with our drinks. There was a slightly longer than expected wait on the food that was communicated to us through our server. As we waited she proceeded to make up for it offering us the broccoli we wanted to try for free as well as a complimentary 2nd round of drinks. The mashed potatoes were a show stealer 10/10! As well as the spinach! The broccoli was good as well 8/10. The steak ended up being slightly underwhelming. It was smaller than expected hard to believe it was 42oz. We were better off getting separate steaks.. also it was noticeably burnt tasting on the outside.. slightly disappointing because the most quality thing we ordered seemed to have been rushed… Overall would’ve been 5 stars other then few mishaps.Still had a great night!

I originally was set to have dinner at Morton’s but enough people reminded me that you can find them in most major cities. RPM, however, you cannot! So I took my bestie to celebrate my business milestone, and was not disappointed. The food was excellent, flavorful, not too salty, which is an issue almost steakhouse. The strip from New Zealand was an excellent choice. We had brocollini, hen of the woods mushrooms, the Japanese sweet potatoes, and the fancy bread with French butter. Our handsome waiter was absolutely a delight and patient with us as we needed more time to “rest & digest” our meal. He was attentive and went through the menu to ensure we made the most delicious choices. I will absolutely fly the 4 hours to return to RPM!

Went during Restaurant Week and tried the $60 per person Restaurant Week menu. The French onion soup, yellowfin tuna tartare, and piña colada sundae were all quite solid and enjoyable—no complaints there.
Unfortunately, the Restaurant Week Wagyu steak was a huge disappointment. It was tough, chewy, and completely lacking flavor, honestly tasting worse than a cheap $10 grocery-store steak. This was nothing like the quality you’d expect from RPM Steak, and it was very obvious that this was a lower-standard cut created specifically for the Restaurant Week menu. Neither of us finished it, and for $60, you’re far better off ordering from the regular menu or going elsewhere for a proper steak.
Service was genuinely great—our server was kind, attentive, and handled our feedback professionally, even offering alternatives and a complimentary dessert. The atmosphere was fine overall, but if you do come during Restaurant Week, strongly avoid the Wagyu steak.

Wow! What a great experience we had celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary – everyone made our experience special.
The food was spectacular, the service was great and the overall experience met our expectations.
Our waiter, Eric went out of his way to make our time there “extra” and even made sure my food was “gluten free”.
Overall, I’d rate this as top tier experience!

Had an incredible dinner at RPM Steak! The atmosphere is sleek and perfect for a night out in River North. I ordered the 28-day dry-aged Cowboy Steak, and it was exceptional—perfectly charred on the outside, incredibly tender, and had that rich, concentrated flavor you can only get from a proper dry-age. The service was top-notch and attentive throughout the night. Definitely one of the best steakhouse experiences in Chicago. Highly recommend!
