The service was slow, inattentive, and unprofessional.
I felt bad for my server, as it was clearly not her fault, but the management has obviously not staffed this place appropriately.
The menu itself is lacking and real stand out dishes or even high end beach dinner selections. Which, for the money, would certainly be warranted.
Specifically,
The corn-clam chowder, had no evidence of either.
The sushi, was certainly not fresh, was served without any soy sauce offered, a clear indication they have no clue or care on how to offer a typical, modern, restaurant meal.
The octopus l, now a standard on restaurant menus, was clearly from the frozen food section a la Costco. Soggy, not crispy, and without any flavor to speak of.
The salads, also could have come from the supermarket ‘mixed greens’ in a bag.
For main entrees, nothing on the menu was really a ‘must try’ or a beach front favorite. Again, the shrimp added to pastas was overcooked and rubbery, with jarred sauce on top.
Below average food is bad enough, but the two houra it took to come out with entrees adds insult to injury. When pressed, the staff seemed to feel saying they were ‘slammed’ was justification for our shoddy treatment. A full restaurant on a Saturday night in the summer, for a boradwalnrestaurant should not have shaken them so, but they were mostly empty other than one large party.
To top it off, due to one large group (again on a Saturday night in the summer) entitled the staff to restrict bathroom usage to only those attending that party, while our group was told we must use facilities on other floors.
I consider that quite rude, considering our money for a table of 10 was just as green as the party they decided to book on what should’ve been a standard evening for a place like this.
Lastly, the valet service, which costs $15 to park your car at this restaurant (which is the price Nobu charges in Malibu California, this place is no Nobu), seems to have been instructed to ask for their gratituities upfront, a first for me in my 50 years of patronizing restaurants.
All in all if you have a special occasion, or just enjoy professionally run restaurants, steer clear of this mismanaged joke of a overpriced dining experience.
There are so many great waterfront restaurants on Long Island, how this one still exists is a mystery.
Chowder and tex/mex salad were great
