After being here 4 weeks, we haven’t found a place with more expensive beers or cocktails, and the food was 30+% more than other places while being less enjoyable.
3 of the 6 meals were good/great, one was reasonably good, and two were really quite unsatisfactory.
On the plus side, 2 of the group ordered the lobster & salad, and even though it is typically only available for dinner and we were there late in the lunch period. It was nice to have them accommodate the request. And they had Gluten Free options (incl. GF pasta).
However, the service was less prompt than other places, the chicken on the club sandwich was extremely tough and overdone. One of our party had a pizza which he said was truly sub-par, and the pasta had an ostensibly home-made arrabbiata sauce which really wasn’t any better than one from a bottle – and each of those poor/average meals for USD 23-25.
Overall the place felt less welcoming and very exclusive when compared to other places on the island and we are very unlikely to go back. Unfortunate, given the prime location.
For the main course we ordered seafood pasta, grilled ribeye, and lobster linguini. The pasta was absolutely delicious with a hint of spice that brought it over the top.
The only thing better than the food was the service, the restaurant did have a short wait but that’s because it’s a really good restaurant and worth the wait!! Highly recommend this place, during the day you have the beach only 15 feet away from your table, we went at night but it was still a great experience.
Food is expensive, but the portion size is good.
Areas for improvement are that there is no children’s menu, but we got the impression that this is a restaurant that doesn’t really want children there. The kitchen kindly made pizza (normally reserved for lunch sittings) for our children but this was way overpriced and the ham and olive pizza made for us was frankly awful, surprising for an Italian restaurant.
The service on the evening we attended was stretched and a bit rushed as the restaurant was busy, and could have been better given the price we paid for the meal.
Recommended for a fancy dinner date or with friends, but sadly wouldn’t recommend it for young families.
I had an under-seasoned tomato risotto. I did not enjoy it.
