Panera makes rather good and unique sandwiches and salads. They don’t seem to have a large variety on the menu, but what they make I think is pretty good. I do enjoy their bread, especially with soup. Like being able to customize the salads with the toppings and everything on the screens. For me this is a nice convenience.

I was inspired to try the Chicken Avocado Melt from an email I received that had a coupon to try the sandwich and get a free half salad. With this humidity I went straight there.
The Chicken Avocado was so tasty. The only thing the avocado was hard. So I put it on my Greek chicken salad and tried to cut it up because I don’t like to waste avocado. It is my favorite. The size of the meal was great and the value for the price all for under $10 from Panera… amazing!
I was just disappointed with my salad. I tried something different from my Fuji apple chicken salad and it was ok.
Enjoy overall my sandwich and chips!

12/21/25 My husband and I have the flu and were craving some good soup so I placed an order through GrubHub. Unfortunately, my husband’s sandwich and soup didn’t go through. I called GrubHub and they were useless. I called Panera and spoke to a manager named “Marissa” who was kind enough to add the sandwich and soup onto the order and processed my card on the phone. She did everything with a kind heart and welcoming demeanor and I love her for that! GooOoOoOO Marissa! Woo Hoo! YOU ROCK!!

The customer service was great and all of the people that we encountered were very nice. My only complaint would have to be the chicken in my sandwich. In the photo, the chicken was grilled and sliced. My sandwich had chicken that the texture was mushy and it was crumbly. Other than that, the soup was amazing and the drink was surprisingly good.

Panera is always my go-to spot for lunch or hanging out with friends, and this was my first visit to the Shrewsbury location. I opted for my usual favorite, the Green Goddess Cobb salad, which never disappoints! While I tried their green tea for the first time, I found it okay, but it had a noticeable honey taste that I’m unsure about since I prefer adding my own honey. I also indulged in a kitchen sink cookie, although it was a bit overdone for my liking. Nonetheless, the service here was excellent, and I’m grateful for their patience when I couldn’t find my credit card, which I later discovered under the car seat.
The ambiance is consistently modern and visually appealing, and I particularly appreciate the layout at this location compared to the Parlin one—it feels more spacious and open. While I did notice that we had to wipe down tables before sitting, it’s possible they hadn’t gotten to it yet. Initially, the noise level was a bit overwhelming due to a screaming and crying baby, but once they left, it was a relief. It would be great if parents could manage their children’s behavior more effectively in public spaces. Additionally, although not a complaint, my friend and I found it amusing that we heard a ringtone resembling quacking every few minutes—it wasn’t too loud, but it added a touch of humor to our visit.
I highly recommend trying the tomato soup and broccoli cheddar soup at Panera! Adding croutons to the tomato soup adds a satisfying crunch and enhances the flavor. Personally, I enjoy letting them soak a bit to become juicy. As for cookies, the tulip (or sandal, mitten, etc.) is always delicious and sweet. While I prefer the regular chocolate chip cookie over the kitchen sink cookie due to its potential saltiness, I do wish they made chocolate chip cookies as large as the kitchen sink ones, with larger chocolate chips.

I got a drink and sat down to drink it. The cafe atmosphere would be nice if it didn’t have a sorta weird smell inside and the wooden tables have an overall sticky film to it?? The coffee bar was nice but I wouldn’t dine inside. I’d consider coming here during the spring or summer for outdoor seating.

I stopped in for lunch. The facility was very clean. Service was friendly & prompt. I had tomato basil soup which was tasty & their new chicken salad was great. I am very picky with chx salad, but was pleasantly surprised- so fresh and flavorful! Plenty of parking!

I ordered Uber Eats from here while at a work event. I was so angry. There was no silverware (forks, knifes, or even napkins ). Also I ordered an Southwest salad that had NO CHICKEN, hardly any dressing, and the best was the lettuce tasted like it wasn’t washed. Such a waste. I have training in Area tomorrow but there’s no way I ordered from here again.

It’s set a little back from the street obscured a little from the surrounding trees. It’s easy to miss it when driving by. Also, the driveway is not directly in front of the store.
