I will say, this is not a fried dish, so if you order coconut shrimp, don’t expect that- it’s a white coconut sauce over (steamed? Boiled?) shrimp and served over rice- see pic.
The food was out quickly and the service was good
(Disclaimer: I don’t do Chinese much. I usually eat burgers.)
– S18 Dragon And Phoenix (General Tso’s chicken): This half was amazing! The chicken was well prepared and succulent. The sauce was not terribly spicy (I can do Habanero spicy), but it was piping hot temperature-wise.
– S18 Dragon And Phoenix (hot & spicy shrimp): More than half of it was broccoli, beans, carrots, onions, and I managed to find three pieces of shrimp. The sauce was great, but not really spicy at all (I can do Habanero spicy). The shrimp was great. The other veggies were good, but the broccoli was EXTREMELY overwhelming and I couldn’t eat it all.
– Rice: Standard, in a box, cooked well and hot.
– Crab Rangoon: I had two (not pictured). These were great and fresh. I had one with and one without the sweat and sour sauce. The sauce really added to it.
– Conclusion: I would certainly get the chicken and shrimp again, but watch out for broccoli.
Work provided lunch for us on a Thursday at 12pm.
Was a head bartender and worked in service for years so I totally know the grind what’s irritating is a lack of responsibility to even notify social media or anywhere you’re dine in closed, pure undoubtedly laziness!
Especially when people are driving upwards of 20 to 40 minutes to go out to eat and having to wait another 20 to 40 minutes after they arrive and most typical restaurants.
Just take a little bit of responsibility that’s all we ask.
But I will never return here again or give a 5th chance unfortunately, they provided let down after let down when it comes to any type of decent service.
The food……something that is a safe staple at most Chinese restaurants like sweet & sour pork/chicken is always overcooked. Almost like the oil wasn’t hot enough and then the food was left in so long that it gets saturated with oil and the meat becomes tough and inedible. The crab ragoons have zero crab or imitation crab. Just a massive glob of sour cream. The egg rolls no longer have meat in them and are only cabbage.
The only thing consistent about the food prep is the inconsistency.
The owners and staff are extremely friendly and everything is prepared in a timely manner.
It’s sad to see a once bustling and great place fall to this level.
We keep giving them chances in hopes things will get better but it continues to decline.
