This was my first time here, the food and my experience were amazing Mr Singh is super kind and we talked about him moving to the US and opening his restaurant him and my mom spoke over the phone about his culture. I will be coming here all the time! They have been slow so show them some love! They definitely have amazing food. The tikki masala was my favorite!

I went for a Sunday lunch buffet here and was left extremely disappointed. First of all, it was a relatively hot day so the the inside was a bit toasty. The food seemed fresh but also lacked flavour and was mostly just a bit sour and tasteless. The service was attentive but in general the place just felt a bit sad especially for $19.47 . Even the gulab jamun was cold. Very very disappointing

Edit post owner’s reply – I’m really disappointed by the owners reply. I actually did not lie about anything here in my review. Both in my review and my rating, i mentioned that the service was attentive which it was. As the owner mentioned, they asked me if “everything was alright” and I replied “yes” because I don’t understand what else I could have said. The staff or the owner didn’t do anything wrong, but I just didn’t like my experience and posted a review based on my experience. I also noted the positives about service and the food being fresh. But what really is telling is the owner’s distasteful comment about the $20 and 3 plates of food ( I only had a couple , one of them was the cold cold gulabjamun and I paid for it ? ) . Thank you, maybe I was wrong about the service !

Edit 2 – I was just going through my old reviews and I saw that the owner edited his comment again. This time, wording it a bit more professionally but still taking personal jabs and taking things out of context. This is going to be my final response. I’ve never seen an establishment trying to manipulate things over a small customer review. What I wrote was my opinion, others are free to agree or disagree with my view. What I did is just add my perspective, for others to see. As far as my ratings are concerned, there’s a reason why I add a review along with the rating. Sometimes, a place is 3.5 stars out of 5 for me, but there’s no way for me to add that information in the rating. I try to give context behind my thoughts and why I rated it so and I don’t need to defend my ratings. If a prospective customer finds my rating low, they can clearly disagree with my viewpoint judging by my “so-called rating history” as you point out so succinctly. It’s just one person’s opinion, I really don’t understand why you had to make such a big deal out of it. Going back to remove some of the distasteful things you said and trying to paint me as a never-satisfied food critical is just diabolical. I wish you best of luck and I hope you never treat a customer like me again

Exceptional authentic North Indian food made in dhabba style and served in. Buffet format ( which lets you taste wide variety). The food was perfectly spiced and we loved the dal makhani, paneer saag, baingan Bharta . Dessert were excellent and made in-house (gulab jamun, kheer). Love this place !

Came into this traditional Indian restaurant and was surprised to find it nearly empty — but don’t let that fool you. The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. Everything from the naan to the curries and rice was fresh and satisfying. The service was also great — friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Definitely a hidden gem worth supporting!

Food- Pathetic, not fresh at all. The aloo was stale in the samosa, the pakodas were cold from inside, and keep in mind these are the only 2 appetizers apart from the tandoori chicken (which was brown in color and not white from inside)
Coming to main course- the kadhi had a JELLY like texture, channa was sour which totally means they both were stale. The other main course were below average in taste.
The chicken biryani was tasteless, it was very light brown in color, so you know it barely had any taste in it, any restaurant can make pulao better than this.

The atmosphere is of a very old Indian restaurant maybe from the 90s, dull and dark from the inside.

Dont why the restaurant has a 4 rating. Definitely my top 3 worst Indian restaurant in Houston.

Owners please make a note to not serve stale food to customers, like cmon jelly like texture in kadi, stale aloo, brown chicken….
Please don’t tarnish the reputation of India restaurants.

We have been going to this Indian buffet for 20+ years and the food is amazing! Their signature dish has got to be the Saag Paneer. It is so good, and difficult to find one like this! We live in Toronto now (world’s most diverse city), as well as I have been to India and tried Indian food all over the world, but this restaurant has got to be in my top 3 fave Indian restaurants. Service is friendly, buffet food is nice (and my family and I normally don’t like buffets) and it’s location is easy to find. This place is very popular during the lunch buffet time, so arrive early and hungry. My only complaint is the aesthetics. Their furniture and decor can do with an upgrade. It’s a bit dark in there. The delicious food does compensate! Not really a “date night” place.

Fairly average, the buffet lunch had a sensible amount of options, although only one curry dish was available.

The flavours were just to bland and the spice level was nonexistent.
The location of the restaurant is not the best either.

Houston is home to some good Indian food options, this one just misses the mark in my opinion.

GOURMET INDIA!!!! The name of this restaurant says it all. Tucked away in this quiet little mall area off of Westheimer and hwy 6 is this near fine dining restaurant. The interior features a relaxing and formal setting with formal cloths and table settings and calming music to set the mood. The service is friendly and professional. We were seated quickly and our beverages brought to our table within a few minutes. We inspected the 20 plus item buffet and decided upon that. Each item had its unique indian cuisine presentation and flavor. Mmmm….my mouth is still watering! The fresh soft tortilla type bread was AMAZING and I dipped it in almost ech dish I sampled. The $13 lunch buffet was inexpensive for what you can eat. You just have to experience this place.
