I ordered egg biryani. Your biryani tastes fine, but your style of preparing it is wrong. Egg biryani is made with whole egg, not egg omelet.

First time eating at Indian restaurant, pleasantly surprised by the flavor, even if it’s from the buffet table. I see them restocking the food quite often over the period of hour that we are there and the flavors are just amazing spicy but not too spicy. Not sure what everything is but I had two full plates with rice. Everything is good with rice.

They were open on Easter, which is worth two stars and the food was worth at least 4 stars, but 5 is the maximum number of stars I’m allowed to leave. The chicken kabob was moist and flavorful. The lamb kofta was very well seasoned and fall apart tender. It was my first time having naan with goat cheese and it’s a new favorite! (I also ordered tea, which came out at the end like it always does when the restaurant is slow because it takes forever to make, so it was a nice way to finish the meal!)

I’ve loved Royal Taj ever since I first had their food delivered during Covid lockdown. Most Indian restaurants don’t make the food hot enough for me… If my eyes aren’t tearing up, and my sinuses aren’t clearing, it’s not hot enough. Those few that do sacrifice flavor for it. Royal Taj, however, gets both the flavor and heat just right. My only criticism is that I have to make sure to not sound White when I place a delivery order (I’m rarely able to make it out to that side of town) as some of the staff think, “Oh, he means ‘White guy hot’, so nothing spicer than mayo everyone!” Either that, or I have to play up the Whiteness and make it seem like a challenge so that they think they’re going to “teach me a lesson”. Not realizing that I actually DO want it that hot, lol.

This place is authentic and delicious! I ordered the goat curry. I was asked how spicy I wanted my curry. It’s nice because it’s made to order. I asked for hot, but the waiter suggested I get the medium. He was right on. It was good to eat without the burn. You can get the naan of your choice. I asked for garlic. I took my time to savor the flavors. A bit pricey compared to what I’m used to, but it’s California

“It was a wonderful experience with great service and a calm, pleasant atmosphere The food was delicious this was my first time trying naan bread, and it exceeded my expectations. The curry chicken was flavorful and very enjoyable
The only downside was that the portion size was a bit small for the price, but that wasn’t a big issue since the food quality was excellent

nowaways, people incorporate “experience” into their reviews of a meal. thats something i never really got. what the hell do i care if an establishment plays music at incomprehensible levels or if i dont think their decor matches. just tell me if the burrito is good.

but there are times where environment is a clear indicator of good food. a chinese restaurant with a child as a cashier, a mexican restaurant that uses low quality speakers to announce customer numbers. ergo, menus underneath glass tabletops is a surefire way to tell if an indian restaurant is the real deal.

but it is important to remember that these are just indicators of good food, not actually good food in itself. but what the hell am i talking about anyways. get the lamb saag with garlic naan.

Good food! We had the veggie appetizers, the malai kofta combo, naan and chai. The pakora were SO GOOD!

Service could be improved a bit. We were forgotten about a few times in terms of being seated, & two food items we ordered. This did not hinder our experience so I would eat here again- I would love to try their kadhi pakora!
