China Garden in Key West off Roosevelt has consistently been the best Chinese food my wife and I have had. Even after moving and doing a lot of traveling, we still compare other spots to this place. But the most heartfelt surprise was discovering that the boss’s lady is also from Hong Kong! To travel so far from home and find a fellow Hong Konger is a rare and special joy. We’ve been coming to China Garden for years now — at least 4–5 years regularly, and over 7 years living in town — and it has truly become one of those places that feels like home to us.
They were absolutely wonderful to us when I was pregnant, always kind, attentive, and welcoming, and now we come in with our son, and they are just phenomenal with him. So patient, so sweet, and genuinely caring. That kind of warmth means everything to a family.
The food is consistently excellent — I’ve never had an off meal here. My favorite is the egg drop soup; it’s incredibly flavorful and comforting, and the egg rolls are always perfectly seasoned and delicious. Everything tastes fresh and made with care.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the people. Every visit feels happy and welcoming. You’re not just another table — you’re treated like someone they’re genuinely glad to see.

Foods I ordered was just okay.The experience was decent, but the food didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The fried rice could use more flavor, tasted like it missed the rice-flavor memo, and the spring rolls were the kind you eat and immediately forget. On the bright side, you can crank up the spice to your liking, so at least your mouth gets a little party.
I did appreciate the option to adjust the spice level to my liking. The server didn’t talk much, the server and I definitely played a fun game of “guess what I’m saying” a few times. Prices were actually pretty decent for Key West won’t break the bank, but probably won’t blow your mind either.

Absolutely terrible, there is no way the bell peppers are this big. I can actually see where the bell peppers are cut. There has to be atleast 3 bell peppers in this food, as well as the onions no way these onions need to be that big. The cooks need to take their time when chopping up the vegetables. Side note there is only 1. Duck sauce !! That’s absolutely ridiculous. 2. There are two soy sauces in which I don’t eat. 3. A mustard sauce in which also I don’t eat. 4. No utensils! 5. No napkins ! The pepper steak is slimy !!! I will not be returning unless I am physically eating the place, the to go option is absolutely terrible. They have Great staff though.

Great Chinese food. We ate here today and everything was very fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly, kind, and attentive. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was comfortable. I had the chicken and broccoli and it was loaded with flavor. We also tried the egg drop soup and the chicken with garlic sauce.

We come from a country near China and grew up with lots of authentic Chinese food and this was extremely good authentic Chinese food!! the portions are amazing, prize is good (for key west) and taste was wonderful. The Egg drop soup is a must! They asked us about dietary restrictions immediately and that was very kind and considerate and a rare occurrence with restaurants in America.
