The Caesar salad is absolutely delicious, safe to say the best in town. Served on a heaping plate, served for two. Every corner of the salad is covered in dressing.
We ordered the Prime Rib, and all I can say is wow. Extremely juicy and savory. Christy’s Gruyère potatoes au gratin was an incredible addition to our meal.
Thank You Christy’s !!

I’ve been coming to Christy’s Restaurant for over 25 years. This visit ended that relationship.
Strike one: my partner was told to remove his fedora hat—petty, outdated, and unnecessary.
Strike two: I was told there would be no separate checks, only a forced split down the middle. Rigid policy, zero grace.
Strike three: My friend was told she could not taste a white wine ordered by the glass. At this price point, that’s unacceptable.
Then came the moment that eclipsed everything else. We decided to leave. The owner, Chris, told us that we didn’t belong there. We were a diverse group, respectful, longtime patrons, and paying customers. That statement crossed a line from poor service into outright disrespect.
This wasn’t about tradition or standards—it was about exclusion and tone. A restaurant’s legacy collapses the moment its hospitality does.
One star. A deeply disappointing end to a 25-year loyalty.

We have been visiting this restaurant for over 25 years and have mostly enjoyed our experiences.
However, last Friday night was disappointing.
To start the hostess forced us to sit in the bar area on a high top table since we brought 1 extra guest.
Then the service was slow and inconsistent with used plates piled up on the tiny table before being cleared. The area was loud , bright and crowded with people constantly walking back and forth by our table. The main meals were OK, we ordered the prime rib which was average but a bit tough considering the price. However, the sides were terrible, (at $16.00 each) we ordered the Mac and cheese and asparagus. The Mac and cheese was cold floating on milk separated from the cheese , tasted terrible!
And the asparagus were also cold and just 5 small pieces with some white cream drizzle on top, also totally inedible. We had a terrible experience from start to finish and spent $590.00 for the pleasure. Needless to say we will not return any time soon!
I have had much better experiences at casual steakhouses for 1/3 the price.

I always enjoy my time at Christy’s. The Diabla cocktail is excellent. We were celebrating a birthday and the sparklers were a nice touch.

This was my first and only visit to Christy’s. My $22 glass of Sancerre wine was not cold but my loaded baked potato was. The service was not only slow it was inept. It took 15 minutes to receive our drinks. We ordered anchovies on the side for the Caesar and after asking twice they arrived when we were done. We ordered the special chateaubriand since they were out of prime rib at 7:30, and it was also lukewarm even though it was flambéed table side. The accompanying sides were not hot either. We had to ask twice for another round also When the waiter was packing up the leftovers he piled the dirty dishes in front of my husband rather than removing them. All of this for $600 for 4!

We hadn’t been to Christy’s in over 10 years, I’m so thrilled we decided to try it out again! The food was delicious, so much flavor, and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was so sweet and the service was outstanding! The cost of our meal was great considering how crazy Miami restaurants have gotten with their prices. We will definitely be back again!

not your typical miami steakhouse. it’s old-fashioned but i mean that in the best way! it’s been around since the 80s. my grandparents would go there on fancy dates and stuff. very nice inside (they remodeled like a decade ago) with an awesome waitstaff and amazing food. it really felt like an upscale experience and the delicious food solidified that

Service and ambiance was great. Timeless restaurant with lots of history. However, the 20oz ribeye, which was ordered medium rare, came out dry and medium – no juice. I don’t usually give places a lower review but I was truly unimpressed with the meat for a steakhouse. The baked alaska also looked cool but did not impress.

⭐️ 1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointing Experience at Christy’s

I’m truly disappointed with my recent visit to Christy’s, a restaurant that calls itself an icon in Coral Gables but delivered one of the poorest dining experiences I’ve had in Miami.

First, the service was unacceptable. I ordered a specific bottle of wine, and they brought a completely different vintage without informing me. When I questioned it, the staff justified it instead of acknowledging the mistake or offering a proper solution. For a place that claims to have a serious wine program, this is inexcusable.

Then came the food. My filet mignon was served almost burned and at the wrong temperature, far from what I requested. Instead of correcting it, they continued to make excuses—blaming it on Thanksgiving Day and the restaurant being busy, as if that justified delivering substandard quality and service.

To make things worse, the restaurant doesn’t even offer a kids menu. For a place that positions itself as a classic, family-friendly Coral Gables institution, this was surprising and inconvenient.

All of this reflects what seems to be a clear issue with poor management. Instead of taking responsibility and ensuring guests receive the level of service Christy’s claims to represent, the staff spent more time offering excuses than solutions.

Overall, nothing about this experience matched the reputation Christy’s tries to project. Wrong wine, overcooked steak, no kids menu, poor service, and even poorer management. I expected a refined, iconic dining experience and instead received the opposite. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant based on what I experienced.

I am reluctant to give this restaurant a five star review, because I don’t want other people to know how great it is and ruin it. This is a classic spot in the heart of coral gables. I’ve been going to Christy’s my whole life, but the quality of food and service has only increased lately. My server tonight was so lovely. I LOVE this restaurant.
