Tucked quietly into the corner of a strip mall, this place is the definition of a hidden gem. It’s unassuming from the outside, but the food here is consistently excellent and far exceeds expectations.

The fish quality is outstanding: fresh, clean, and handled with care. Whether you’re getting nigiri, rolls, or sashimi, you can really taste the difference. The cooked dishes are just as strong, which isn’t always a given at sushi spots.

The real star, though, is the bento box. If you want the most bang for your buck, this is absolutely the way to go! You get miso soup, salad, a California roll, tempura, nigiri, and two main dishes. My favorite main dishes are the fried salmon, beef, chicken katsu, and extra nigiri! An incredible amount of food for the price. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared rather than thrown together. Each bite is satisfying, well-seasoned, and comforting.

On top of all that, the service is genuinely kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. This has easily become my favorite Japanese restaurant in Federal Way, and I keep coming back not just for the value, but for the quality and consistency. If you’re nearby and overlook it because of its location, you’re seriously missing out.

This is the best sushi I’ve ever had, and that’s saying something. They offer specialties like wild sockeye salmon, uni, and delightful rolls. The ramen is also delicious, fresh and homemade. We love this place so much, we go whenever we’re in the area!

Great food, service, atmosphere and the parking is very easy, non-chaotic and free. I liked that they were playing Japanese ambience videos on the TV instead of anything else, plus calming Japanese music. I usually just go to the same sushi place over and over for no reason so I decided to branch out and I’m glad I did. They had simpler rolls for around $10 or less. And fancy rolls for closer to 15-20. Pictured is the fried Cali roll and Seattle? Roll (can’t remember). Both delicious

Update: just returned to have ramen for the first time. I forget what it was called but it was the pork belly with pork broth. I am continually blown away by the quality of the food, and although I typically just eat at home, this is the one place I really look forward to and do not hesitate to spend money because I consistently leave happy, full and refreshed. It’s worth dining in for the service and atmosphere versus just takeout, too.

Update- this place is the best ever and I’m so sad that I’ll be far away when I move to Seattle!! The sushi is always fresh and superior in quality and taste, and the tonkotsu shasu is the best thing ever

I’m so lucky to have this place only half a mile from my house. This has to be one of the best sushi spots in all the Seattle area. The quality of their fish is so fresh always. Free tea everyday. We usually get the Miso soup, Omakasi Box (amazing), edamame. Today we tried the Tiger Eye appetizer. Will be on our top appetizer to order here. If you haven’t you must try this place!!!!

Clean simple restaurant we had the small boat shared across 3 with a few nibbles from the others with very fresh seafood with thick cuts of sashimi. Also delicious tempura udon and ramen. Worth the price. We’ll definitely be back.

I have been here multiple times and will keep coming back! Very quiet and calm space to dine in.
I love the chirashi bowl, spicy tuna roll, miso soup and chicken teriyaki! They have everything you need to satisfy a craving.
I’ll be coming back over and over even though I’m 1.5 hours away

Been going here for years and can say I highly recommended this place for quality and value. Service is excellent, sushi is fresh, price is reasonable and atmosphere/environment is enjoyable.

We usually get rolls and chrashi.

I ordered the assorted sashimi and sushi, but it was nothing more than tuna and salmon.
For the price they’re charging, this is absolutely unacceptable.

What made it worse was the strong fishy smell the kind that immediately kills your appetite.
It was honestly hard to eat and felt borderline unpleasant.

When this place first opened, it was at least better than most spots in the neighborhood, which is why I used to come here.
Now, even with rising food costs, this felt like a complete waste of money and genuinely disappointing.
I was also surprised they didn’t even serve the usual miso soup.

At this point, there’s no longer any reason or value to come back.
This restaurant has turned into something I can’t recommend anymore.

This was some of the freshest most authentic sushi i ve ever had outside of japan. This place was clean super friendly. Only downside was the long wait for the food but for sure worth it. We had the sumo, mountain, faty tuna, and the bee roles and all were super delicious. Definitely going back
