The food is good. Pastries are rich and flakey. I like the atmosphere and staff are very knowledgeable. I do wish they had more seating, but this place is great for takeaway. They can run out of food fast so you need to come early before the crowd. A place that I will easily come back to.

Exceptional bakery, and the coffee cake is the best I’ve ever had. Service is slow, though demand appears to be the main reason.

The setup is unusual, with the ordering counter effectively inside the kitchen and staff working alongside customers waiting in line.

This would be a five-star experience if not for the aggressive tipping practice—there is no visible “no tip” option for counter service, requiring customers to manually create a zero tip through a custom process.

The hype is real, deserved and well-justified! These are some of the most masterfully executed breads and pastries you will ever find anywhere. Absolutely stunning products! It’s really cool too to see Chef Tim teaching his formidable skills and knowledge to the next generation in the people who work there…And the coffee from Bicycle is fantastic too. My only complaint is that my stomach isn’t big enough to eat them all at once…yet. But really, everything is excellent, and you can’t go wrong with whatever you pick, but friends, the almond croissant will touch your very soul and hug it forevermore. ❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic Bakery with truly outstanding pastries. A quaint little roadside cafe with exceptional baked goods. The bonoffie morning bun was outrageouly good and I dream about the double chocolate cookie days after. My favourite bakery on the central cost

This is our absolute favorite bakery in SLO County and there are tons of good ones around here!

We love everything we’ve had to date whether it’s sweet or savory. Their pastries, chocolate, and other baked items are always balanced with the perfect amount of sweetness and hand made to impress from a visual standpoint as well.

We’ve always had friendly service when we’ve dropped in. Smaller space that they do a good job of keeping the line moving at.

Special shout out for their coffee offerings and pizza Monday’s as well. The pizzas we had were superb with a phenomenal crust. Always worth the trip to Los Osos to head here for literally anything they make! Thanks Tim and team.

Oh my gosh there is a line for a reason. The freshest and most fun staff anywhere. I love the cóokies and the pastrys. All of them. All the staff have learned from the start and can tell you what is in each and every item. Speaking of Tim, the owner , he makes sure he has the freshest and best tasting ingredients. If it isn’t organic it is close. Love the spirit. Enjoy

Delicious pastry. A bit on the expensive side but absolutely worth it. Tried the chocolate croissant, the ham and cheese croissant, coffee cake and the brownie cookie. All were excellent and the croissants are flaky, buttery and perfect with crunch and a soft fresh interior.

Ever Waiting
This is a bakery first and foremost that dabbles in coffee. So let’s do the coffee first.

Coffee is ok, for the price you pay, honestly go to Nautical Bean and grab yourself a larger cup, better taste, and more variety for the same price. Then come back for pastries or sandwiches. Coffee size is 8ish ounces with a 5 to 6 dollar price tag. The coffee we got was special so it was quite thick. Good but thick. I got hot chocolate which was decent. 4 dollars for 8 oz, nothing else added.

Pastries, oh man…. price is my main gripe. 15 dollars for a sandwich 6 dollars for a basic croissant. Are they good, yes? worth the price…? I say no, but that is just my judgment.

Service, here is another main issue. I have been there a few times to get a variety of experiences. Let me explain my expectation of good service so you get a picture. I expect to be greeted, have questions answered, and have the cashier lead me through the experience. This was not the experience I had. I had the blank stare type of service. Cashier did not greet, did not explain, when asked questions did not answer, and just stared at us or passed us the whole interaction. It was busy, yes, but some basic back and forth would be nice; a pleasant tone would have gotten a tip.

2 drinks, 1 coffee and 1 hot chocolate, a sandwich and butter croissant were 33 dollars. This is a nice once-in-a-while treat, maybe once a quarter. Though as a local, I know the spots I can go to get just as good of food and drink for way less or have points to earn free drinks (not Starbucks)

Final verdict:
Tourists looking for a hipster experience that really isn’t the local vibe, but is Instagram-worthy, come here and spend that money. Coming from slo, paso or other areas, it is a nice treat and a certain aesthetic. It is small with very very limited indoor seating and more options in the back, though they share that with 3 other restaurants, so be mindful of that.

Locals who are budget-minded, looking for a good cup of coffee and something to eat, maybe pass this up for the regular stop and keep it an option for a date day, or a special treat.

The best bread in California, and believe me, as someone who seeks out a great Batard, this place delivers. Everything they make is fantastic and done with a perfect touch!
