Adorable little old times restaurant. Not a lot of these left anymore. We got 2 cheeseburgers, and they were quite tasty for fast food. The lady behind the counter was very sweet.

Been eating here for 40+ years. Favorite place on Earth to blow your diet out of the water and insure you won’t be in a nursing home someday. Lady running it isn’t personable at all, but can get past that I guess.

Customer service was not good lady was rude and the prices are outrageous,$5.00 for a small sundae! Speaking of sundaes they come with unknown nuts and did not take it back or remake it they told me I had to pay for it. If you or your kids have allergies please be aware. Do not recommend going that.

Review edit:
Burgers have improved. The bacon burger is a new fave. Fries are extra crispy. (Best kind of crispy) just wish the lady in the window was a little more welcoming. But I get it. Hot days stuck in a kitchen with ovensn friers and stoves can make anyone less pleasant. My kids have been asking when they will open for the season. Looking forward to a nice treat.

I’ve stopped by with my son a couple times. Their burgers aren’t worth the money. Really small patty on regular buns, a drop of condiments, and a pickle slice. Ice cream was good though, son loves going to sit at the picnic tables to eat ice cream. If you want a quick cheap ice cream treat this is good, but not for lunch or even a burger craving.

This place 2 me isn’t really about the food at all . Im from a big city . I love this place simply because it exists . These places do not exist where I’m from and never will again . Many places in a city try to offer nostalgia but it’s fake and manufactured. I love going here because my better half went here with her grandma as a kid and now she takes me and the shared connection of a youth she remembers and I’ve never known is fantastic . I wish I had places I went with my grandma as a kid to still go to but they are almost all gone so yeah I could say something about price but to me this has nothing to do with that. What isn’t expensive today. It has character and history I’d pay way more for that than a larger patty and if nostalgia isn’t on your menu then hell the TWINKLE DIP ALONE IS WORTH 5 STARS

Heard it is “the spot” in town, always a line to get good food and and an ice cream treat so of course had to try it out. Menu is large but not very detailed. When I asked if the hot beef sandwich was sliced roast beef (I’m thinking Italian roast beef sandwich) the woman behind the counter replied “no it’s beef”. Ordered the (grilled) Chicken Ranch BLT sandwich, 2 large root beer floats, California Burger, large cauliflower buds and a small size jalapeno poppers.
The floats were great but cups were sticky with ice cream and was a slippery I about lost my cup. We got the food and although it was good, I would have preferred a different bun. They use like the Walmart brand kind of hamburger buns and I was not expecting that for the price. Kaiser rolls would have been a better fit. It made the sandwich small and a bit sweet. Still delicious tho. Most of the buds were blackened by the fryer and our poppers were literally smashed on the bottom of the bag. No napkins and when I asked to use the bathroom to wash my hands I was told they’re not open bc she didn’t get to clean them yet. We were the only ones there for about 15 minutes at 5pm before the rush hit.
We returned for ice cream 5 hours later and I again got a root beer float. Delicious but again, sticky. When I asked if the restrooms were available yet she told me “no and probably won’t be for the rest of the night”. Again, we were the only ones there at first and although it was late, they were the only ones open in town and I really needed to pee. I felt as if she kept giving me a rude tone whenever I asked about something, it made me feel very unwelcomed but I brushed it off bc my company is very fond of the place.
The best thing I loved about the visit here and this town, is the ppl you meet along the way. The 4 generation family that was celebrating grandpa’s bday there were the most kind and warm hearted family I have met, since visiting a family in Mississippi. Good down to the soul. It definitely made me want to return again and have good company while enjoying a good meal. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is bc of the customer service, I felt judged and an attitude right away however maybe it’s just me, I have that affect on ppl sometimes. However, she was generously tipped, 2x, but she was also the chef. I will return, probably tomr, as our job in town isn’t finished yet and we’ll be hungry not knowing where else to go. If anything changes, food or service, I will update.

Got a little pricey. I like to give my business to locals, but I feel I was charged way too much for a dipped ice cream cone.

I’m giving a temporary 4 stars because I know this place would have been good if it’s set up wasn’t so hard… I parked in the driveway and took up the whole thing… then I park in the street and walk up and thought it might be abandoned… who knows … didn’t know where to enter even

I LOVE this place! I’ve been coming here for years and they’ve always had great food and ice cream! My favorite thing is the twinkle coat! I’ve never had a bad experience here! Will continue to stop by whenever I’m in town.

Not rating on taste but customer service. My son ordered a twist cone with sprinkles. Came out had nuts all over it. Apparently they dont have sprinkles but a “mix.” Wasn’t informed of this when ordering then was told I’d have to pay for a new one (money isn’t the issue I’d pay for a new one if I was wrong.) She wouldnt rectify the situation and watched my son walk away crying. Better watch your kids if they have a peanut allergy and you get the “mix” when you order sprinkles. Great small town customer service….
