Had such a beautiful afternoon here last saturday with friends.

I had arrived early as i had something to do beforehand and giving how freezing it was, instead of going to the pub, I decided to pop in and see if i could wait inside, i’m so glad i did, the waiter was absoulutley lovley, got my table ready and handed me the drinks menu while i waited- A warm, welcoming start.

We had a private booth that felt warm and cosy. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very Italian- Full of charm, and decorated so nice for christmas.

The food was outstanding, there was both a Christmas menu and à la carte which was great and plenty to choose from.

I had the garlic prawns, huge, full of flavour, and an amazing sauce.
One friend had the caprsese and loved it.
Another had the antipasti, which was so big it could have been a main
Another choose the pate, again plentiful and enjoyed.

I had the lasagne, lovely, huge portion size, I enjoyed every bite .
One friend had the Beef with veg and boiled potatoes, it looked modest at first though the beef portion was very generous, my friend loved it.
The others had pasta dishes, including one with prawns, both raved about.

The dessert was next level only 1 of us ordered the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream WOW! Probably the biggest slice I’ve ever seen with lots of chocolate sauce appreciated (no dry cake here ) It was devoured.

Drinks wise, great choice, two of us shared a bottle of red wine, I was between two and asked the waiter for his recommendation, he suggested the second option and was spot on, it was full bodied and smooth .
Two of our friends had the Moretti on tap – perfect. Coffee and liqueur followed, the Amerato wasn’t for me although my friend enjoyed his and mine .

The prices were excellent for the portion sizes and quality of food, the atmosphere was lovely, quiet when we arrived, then suddenly buzzing as it filled up.

The only slight to mention was the service was a little slow at times, although to be fair we did take our time deciding and the waiter was lovely and good- humoured about it.(when we finally said we were ready he joked ” no 2 minutes ” Fair play!

All in all it was a lovely day spent with friends, great food, great atmosphere and lovely warm service. Absolutely recommend

Really nice atmosphere. Attentive but not hassling staff. Really friendly. Lovely food. Comfortable in a big booth for 7. The restaurant is nicely lit, feels quite private but plenty of space. Never been before but would definitely go again.

Kicked off our corporate Christmas day out in Italian Cafe in the beautiful Merchant City. Great food and service, all the Italian classics with a festive twist! Will certainly be back for luncheon and/or supper. The girls drank so many of the delicious cocktails it’s amazing they managed to extricate themselves from the venue! Great place.

While visiting the town, my son and I opted to have lunch and stumbled upon an Italian café. Upon entering, we were greeted with a welcoming atmosphere. The young server, whose name unfortunately eludes me but who was notably wearing a white cardigan, provided attentive service while allowing us ample time to decide on our orders. We selected a three-course meal, which was exceptional. I certainly intend to return! The pricing was reasonable, the service exemplary, and the food was exquisite. What more could one desire? Regrettably, I did not capture any photographs during our visit; however, I will make it a point to do so next time.

I was really looking forward to a great dinner after a very hectic week, but the atmosphere was completely ruined by an older man, I think either a manager or possibly the owner, loudly shouting at a very polite young boy who had served us, simply for drinking water while on shift. The language used was highly inappropriate and could be heard throughout the entire venue.
Watching an older man publicly berate a young employee for something as basic as staying hydrated was extremely uncomfortable. That young man did not deserve to be spoken to in that way, and witnessing this completely overshadowed the dining experience.
I will absolutely NOT be returning, and I cannot support or recommend a venue that treats its staff with such disrespect. How employees are treated speaks volumes about a place, and in this case, it was deeply disappointing.

Beautiful food. Cocktails were also very good. Service was 15/10. We ordered started to share between two people and it was so filling we didn’t even want a main. Would definitely be coming back. The king scallops is a must! So big so soft and super tasty!

Absolutely amazing meal last night with my niece. We were over an hour late for our booking due to taxi not turning up and the staff could not have been nicer. I had forgotten my specs and our waiter lent me his. We were going to a gig at the barrowlands so we had to rush our food which was a pity because I could have stayed there all night. Best Italian restaurant I’ve been in including ones in Italy. Top class ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a first time visit to this restaurant and definitely the last. Sorry to say that the food was bland and actually my bolognese was just not nice. I’m not the best cook but I think most people would agree this is a go to dinner to compensate for a lack of prowess in the kitchen for most people but not the case for this Italian restaurant. I knew my chocolate sponge pudding was heated ready for serving because I heard the ding of the microwave. It wouldn’t have taken an inordinate time to have it warmed in an oven which perhaps wasn’t already in use. Pleasant enough although I would have preferred to not sit on my coat for lunch when coat hooks were visible. To be slightly mean it did act as a cover up for tired and worn upholstery. Sorry to say first and last last visit.
