Honestly Ichiban used to be my favorite place to order sushi, I’ve been coming here for years & I would typically spend $95+ every visit and they always used to make their food with care but recently it’s gone down hill. The sushi is overpriced for the food, taste and presentation they are giving now. The sushi is small, dry and overcooked. The first two times I gave them the benefit and thought maybe they were just having an off day but unfortunately this is just a common occurrence now. Sad to say but I now need to find a new sushi location.

Don’t ever come to this restaurant I used to come to this restaurant at least twice a month and now the restaurant has really bad service. Every time I call to make a takeout food order they mess up in the order, last time I had order three rolls and one bento box and I only got two rolls and the bento box so I called the restaurant to let them know that we were missing one roll so they could do the roll and we could pick it up, the waitress answered the phone and she went and asked the chef and the chef was like “ I do remember doing three of them” but we only received two in the box so it kind of pissed me off because they didn’t wanna redo the roll or give me my money back so the lady said that we were gonna have a 20% off next purchase and she wrote my name down now. I haven’t ordered from them since then because of the bad service so I decided to give him one more chance and then again I ordered the aloha roll which is my favorite and every time I order it, it always comes with the fish and jalapeño and a drp of Sriracha sauce and good thing that when I pick them up, I checked the boxes right then and there and I noticed that two of our rolls were missing the jalapeños and the sauce so in front of the waitress, I said to her “they forgot the jalapeños” and her answer Was “it depends every chef does it different” and I was like what do you mean? The aloha roll already comes with the jalapeño and the drop of Sriracha sauce that’s how their menu states and then her answer didn’t make sense. I waited over 15 minutes for a freaking sliced jalapeño and on top of that I requested my 20% off from over 90 bucks order and there 20% off was -$3 buck off????
Tell me how is that 20% off I attach the receipt below so everybody can see and I also noticed the chef was touching the rolls with their bare hands, no gloves, and on top of that they take smoke breaks which it’s really unsanitary because they touch the rolls and they smoke every 15 minutes when they don’t have any other orders and I doubt that they’re cleaning their hands because every time they go back in, they go to their little bar area right away, and I never see them stopping to wash their hands. Don’t come here anymore. And whats worse on top of that their spicy mayo sauce when you purchase to-go is literally not even halfway of the cup filled, and they charge almost 2 bucks per cup. It’s not worth it. Stay away!!! Never coming back again!
Update: I forgot to check the bento box and they gave me a chicken teriyaki and I ordered a chicken/beef bento box they can’t never get things right!!!

Visited this restaurant because I was near by. Sat down ordered. The server/hostes was friendly and nice. Called in at asked if there was any specials today. They said there were having a 9.99 special for some of the rolls,chicken teriyaki, and ramen. On a special menu they had those items listed but sketched with a sharpi on top of the menu 1.50 gratuity per item. Thats seemed odd but I was ok with it since it looked like a pre authorization for 15% gratuity tip. When I recieved the final check it showed that they charged me an additional 18% gratuity. So I was getting charged 33% gratuity for a table of 5. Three kids and 2 adults. When confronted, the server tried to explain that the owner needs to make up for the cheaper prices so they charge the 33% gratuity. I felt like I was targeted especially after getting harrased by new server who wasn’t even helping our table. I had a horrible experience and will mever return.

Beef & Chicken Ramen was basic but good, rolls weren’t bad. Service was super slow & it wasnt busy. Server forgot to bring things, cook left off an order of ramen and I was brought a different drink on my refil.

Came here before closing ordered my food got to eating… then we hear Karen start telling the waitress its 830 allready turn off the lights. Once its 830 you need to start closing turns out karen here is a manager by the name of tanya turning down potential customers.

I ordered over $100 of sushi last night to go. My daughter found a hair under the rice in one of her rolls. Then after searching other rolls, we found a 2nd hair in a different roll. This was my #1 sushi place in Bakersfield, now we will never go back. We didn’t bother calling for a refund, but this ruined my wife’s birthday dinner.

My first time here and I definitely can say it was amazing! So let’s start off with location… doesn’t look like much on the outside but when you walk in, it can be a cozy, casual little date night for you and your significant other. It could be a nice little get together with friends or a nice family night out. Not great for huge groups but perfect for the squad. The staff here are very nice and professional. So now let’s talk food. I ordered the dynamite appetizer and the sashimi. The dynamite consisted of baked mussels with vegetables and some kind of sauce and it had my taste buds on an amazing journey. This is Sashimi was fresh and they give nice portion sizes. Price range will run you about an average of $12-$13 a plate, depending on what you want. For those special occasions, they even have the Sushi Boat. I will definitely be back.
