Awesome historic tavern. Kayla provided great service and casual conversation for a weary traveler. Food was hot and delicious. The pretzel bites with icing and vanilla ice cream were lethal! SO GOOD. THANKS FOR A GREAT DINING EXPERIENCE!

Nostalgic meal, 30 years later and the food still tastes like I remember. Old bar vibes. Spicy chili with large hamburger chunks, beans and noodles- yummy! Cheese burger with pickles, onions and mustard- so good, just like I remember an old fashioned crispy smash burger. The lager was cold crisp and perfectly matched the meal.

The Metzger’s burger was juicy. The Metzger’s House Beer was tasteful. Not the old Metzger’s, the new ownership has a great classic family atmosphere. So glad we stopped in. It’s a must see, one of the best dive bars in the U.S.

This is bar food at its finest. I hadn’t been here since it changed ownership and had heard some good things about it.
They were accurate. The burger was juicy and had great flavor. The bun was toasted just enough to have a slight crunch. Even the tomato slice tasted ripe (not easy to do in February)
The fries were above average.
We will definitely be visiting Metzgers again! This was the best burger I’ve had in Henderson.

This place for me was absolutely perfect. We had to order to go, due to the pandemic. They are limited menu makes it easy for you to make a choice. We went with the chili, and it was a nice surprise to find out there was noodles in it. The chili had a good flavor and a nice bite to it. But I’ll tell you one thing you definitely have to get and that is the double cheeseburger fully dressed. The paper was so soaked through with grease by the time we got home I knew it was going to be the perfect Smashburger. And it did not disappoint, the meat had a little crispness on the end and the inside was completely juicy. Would recommend again and again.

Its actually been a year or so since I’ve been in Metzgers and the last time I went in I was very disappointed. Got the jalepeno poppers as an appetizers and they were cold in the middle. Food took 20 minutes to get to us. I got the pimento grilled cheese and my mom got a burger. My mom said the buns were cold on her burger and my pimento GRILLED cheese was cold in the middle. The only thing good was the beer. Atmosphere was still nice. I really hope to get some better cooks in the kitchen. I used to brag about metzgers to everyone. Now im just disappointed.
