Food was underwhelming. For the price I paid. Ordered drinks no alcohol. Tasted like crap and water. Then they would not discount or remove or make it right. Will not be eating here again. For the money that they charged me I am not satisfied. And staff was not that attentive neither. And no tip either.

A good place for some great Tex-Mex food. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived but we didn’t have to wait more than five minutes to get a table. The secret highlight was the simplicity of chips and dip, but the main courses were delicious as well! Would definitely recommend, both for vegetarians and carnivores!

This was very disappointing experience that could have been resolved some basic communication from the restaurant management. I received the lunch menu on arriving and asked if they had shrimp tacos, they said they did on the dinner menu and I ordered it without seeing in on the menu. It comes and was heavily marinated with jalapenos, I asked if there was a way to get it without but they said it all comes as a mix (then then just gets quickly reheated). Don’t normally mind the extra spice but this was personally inedible for a 40 year old man with plenty of spicy experience. Asked if there was a way to “swap out” the tacos for a cheap alternative and clarified not to pay extra just get something inexpensive I could eat. The waiter brings me some two cheap street tacos for $6.50 which was fine with me and then it shows up on my bill. I ask about our conversation, he asks the manager and she stops by to take the bill and my card. She then charges me for the full amount without a word to me about it. I left upset but without making a scene because it just wasn’t worth the $6. I won’t be back so I hope that was worth it to the business.

The food was pretty good. Good prices except for the beer $7.99 for a 24 oz draft where you can get a 32oz for the same price at any El Mezcal. Had to edit my review when I got the check. If you are getting an oil change at Landers Ford next door, your options are Hueys or here. Choose wisely

The server did not get one order correct. I’m sure he just didn’t understand, which it was ordered plainly. We just didn’t bother saying anything and kept it. When paying the bill I looked for the health score. It was very hard to find because there was so much crowding it. To my dismay it was a 77. I was shocked. They have even been featured in the Collierville magazine for goodness sake. I came home and looked them up on the TN Health Department Restaurant Score and sure enough the last reading was a 77 on the official TN website!! That was in May 2025. I’m very surprised they have not returned to recheck them. However, we will find another mexican restaurant. So disappointing.
The owner replied to me look again 98. Well it maybe now but it wasn’t when we were there. Also looked it up on WREG Score Card and TN Health Department and it WAS 77. I’m very thankful your restaurant has been able to fix all the many concerning faults. Good luck!

It all started Saturday night when my dad made the statement that La Perla Tapatia was the best Mexican place in Collierville. My mom, Sarah and I had not eaten there or we didn’t remember it being anything special if we had.
This time my dad was absolutely right!
I had a margarita on the rocks. It was delicious. Not too sugary and not too heavy on the mix.
For my meal, I had a Tapatia Fajita. It had all the meats you want, tons of them and they were all delicious. Steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo pilled high on a skillet.
The only negative was the guac was a bit salty.
After our meal, I am convinced that La Perla Tapatia is the best Mexican place in Collierville.

Been back again and again but ….
Time to do a deep clean. Air vents in the back area gross. Table damaged and wobbles. Been like this for months . Atmosphere 1 star now
Went back asked for a table. Walked to a booth. Then walked to a booth with chairs you can’t move back. I am a big and tall. We left without eating.
Great food and great service excellent steak nachos. Been here 15x always good food at reasonable prices. Going tomorrow.
