A bit pricey, but cozy coffee house with excellent coffee. This is the original location; there is another in Westfield.

Gregory’s is just down the street and a bit cheaper — but Boxwood is definitely worth trying at least once.

Had the nut cracker latte and my friend had the cardamom vanilla iced matcha. Both were so good! Will definitely go back!

quiet, nice place to knit/crochet after picking up some yarn from wool and grace (local yarn shop a few doors away)! i got a matcha with honey(not too sweet, they took a personal glass cup) and a macaron!

parking: there’s street parking and a lot. both are paid by the parkmobile app. 30 min was less than $1

dietary preferences/allergies : inquire, staff will check for you.

This is a lovely café conveniently located near the Summit train station. The place is clean and cozy, with a warm and friendly staff. The coffee is rich and tasty, and the tea is truly exceptional—one of the best I’ve ever had!

Unfortunately, when we visited, the oven wasn’t working, so the pastries tasted a bit stale and unfresh. It was disappointing since I was looking forward to trying their baked goods.

I’ll definitely give the café another chance, though, as everything else was great. Hopefully, next time the oven will be working, and I can experience the true quality of their pastries!

This place is adorable! The store is super clean, gorgeous, and just pleasing to the eye. Atmosphere is relaxing. The menu consists of varieties of coffee, and I definitely recommend trying their specials! The staff is friendly and helpful—especially when I asked about the flavors of drinks and recommendations.

I got the strawberry basil lemonade. The basil flavor is stronger than the strawberry, but delicious nevertheless. The shades coming down to the red adds to the aesthetic you get in the cafe itself. Light music plays in the background; perfect place to hang out and study. I came at around 6 pm, so there’s barely any people. Lovely little spot!

Really good coffee spot to try! Latte was made beautifully and the cinnamon bun was extra cinnamon-y. Setting was quite and chique. They don’t have too much options as far as food so I would’ve given a 4.5 score but that latte was so damn good. You can tell the latte is going to be good by how the milk is foamed. Chefs kiss. Must try.

Boxwood Coffee is, in my opinion, the best coffee shop in town. They focus really heavily on the quality of their coffee beans, while also giving great customer service. I normally dont spent much time at cafes but I immediately felt at home at Boxwood Coffee becuase they provided such a high quality drink and a laid-back atmosphere. This is a great place to chill in town.

Best coffee and cafe in this part of NJ. The Summit location has very elegant decor, friendly and efficient service. There is lots of seating in the spacious and airy dining room. The coffee is among the very best I’ve ever had. This is a must visit in Summit.

I’m visiting from out of town – i own a chain of coffee shops in South Florida. As always, when traveling, i seek out and try to support local coffee shops

Over the last 4 days in and around Short Hills, Livingston, Chatham and Summit I’ve tried about 8 shops. This is actually the First shop I’ve visited in the area that does everything right

The girl at register understood and knew her coffees, David at barista was servicing the grinder on the fly and after fixing it actually dialed in and tasted his shots before serving

They pull proper shots, the Macchiato was on point, the cold brew delicious, fresh pastries and great atmosphere

Congrats to this ownership and team – great job – by far the best coffee in Summit, NJ and surrounding area. I will be sure to visit again tomorrow before heading to the airport and again when i return to the area

My first appreciation for cappuccino, specifically, actually started here at Boxwood. Their other coffees are good too but for some reason I like how they make their capps here.

A recent revisit continues to confirm that. And I have also appreciated their matcha latte as well – bold, earthy but not too bitter. You could tell good quality matcha, or perhaps even ceremonial matcha, was used.

It was a delight to try a new Latte special which was the “nutcracker” and that during our visit, they had a good stock of donuts from Doughnut plant. They are so good! It has always been a pleasant visit every time we find ourselves here.
