All in all, I cannot recommend this restraunt. The bill was just over sixty dollars and although we received excellent service, the food was just miserable. We will not be back.
I ordered a Jack and coke, short glass, light ice and my husband ordered a draft beer. The beer was fine, but I got a pint glass filled to the top with coke. It did have light ice, but I could not even taste the Jack. My husband took my drink back to the bar and had it remade.
We order the fried zucchini appetizer and I ordered the hibachi steak, no carrots, with a side of cabbage.
My cabbage came out 1st. It was there for a solid 5 minutes before our appetizer and our food came out about 2 minutes after that. The fried zucchini was decent.
When our food came out my plate had carrots on it, but no big deal, I just pulled them to the side. They were so overcooked, the slices were actually mushy. My steak was cooked just past well done, on the tough and chewy side. They do not cook the steak to order. I prefer my steak medium rare. The soy sauce was so salty that my lips burned.
My husband ordered the ginger steak which the menu describes as thin slices, marinated in ginger sauce. The meat was cubed and looked just like my hibachi steak. It was also cooked past well done. He had the same mushy carrot sliced, which he said tasted candied.
– Food : 5/5
Never had any complaints about the food here, I think the rice is really good, the hibachi shrimp and chicken combo is my go-to and I can’t get enough of those carrots and the yum-yum sauce is fantastic.
– Service : 0/5
Never have I had a smooth experience here. The food is good but it’s hard to ignore the awful service. First off, the drive through workers ask for a tip? Slows down the whole process and why would you ever pay a drive through worker a tip, all they’re doing is keying in what you say. Also, on that note, none of the drive through workers I’ve ever had there have even been remotely nice. Most of the time they open the window and just stare at me without saying a word until I make my order. Most recently, I went there at 10:30 (Google page says they’re open until 12) and the lady came up the window and just said “we closed bro”
Superrrr professional. Maybe list your actual hours then.
– Atmosphere: 3/5
The dining room itself is pretty pleasant, no complaints there. The decor is nice. But the outside of this building is rough. The drive through menu hasn’t been updated in… years. It only has half the menu, it’s sun faded, and it has Pepsi logos all over it, even though for a long time now they’ve been switched over to carrying Coca Cola. The drive through area also just has a run-down appearance.
All in all? It’s okay. The food is good but it hardly makes up for how strange the rest of the experience is. 3/5
Our server was fairly new… she made a strong effort, but needed some training. The bartender/ expo turned a “short” drink into a shot swimming in a pint glass of Coke.
Food for all the tables was coming out in stages. We received a side order of cabbage almost 5 minutes before any of the entrees. Then, our appetizer arrived… just before the entrees.
Our meals both included carrots … neither was supposed to. They were cut too thick for Asian style cooking and put on top of fried rice. They had been boiled/steamed so long I could pinch them into a mush with my fingertips.
Sadly, we both ordered steak entrees, one Hibachi, one ginger. They came out identically … small, overcooked beef cubes with sides of sauce. The ginger steak definitely wasn’t sliced and tasted like it never touched the marinade described.
All in all… this was a disappointing dinner experience. We felt badly for the servers because many people did not leave tips.
