I was charged for a page .25 cent. It wasn’t a thick bag. My chips and napkins were soaked in sauce from it leaking in the bag.
I threw it away in the trash. My co worker tried to eat it for me but it was a waste.
I ordered the Kalbi beef dinner, which came with steamed rice and kimchi, and miso soup for a starter. I also ordered the tako Sunomono For a salad.
The portions were nice, but I was really disappointed in the food. It wasn’t bad, but it was pretty average. The beef was extremely fatty and Had a very soft fat feel in my mouth. It was barely cooked, and at the rare level. it was covered in so much very salty sweet sauce that it was difficult to taste anything but the sauce.
The steamed long grain rice was so overcooked, that it was mushy. It was nice to have a bit of lettuce and tomato and cucumber as a salad, with the cabbage kimchi and pickled daikon and carrot. The kimchi was very strong, as it might have been a little older. Nothing wrong with that, but the kimchi I ate tonight would have been better turned into kimchi soup. The miso soup was pretty standard, but it had a lot of body with the tofu and the seaweed in it. It was good.
The octopus Sunomono was good, and had nice fresh cucumber, a lot of seaweed, and three pieces of octopus. The dressing was a little bit light, and I would have liked to have tasted a little bit more vinegar.
I did take some rice and some of the Kalbi beef Home with me, the box kept opening up because it didn’t snap shut properly. The waitress told me that that’s the way it was supposed to be. It kept popping open. I felt as if it was too much to trouble that I mentioned that.
Though I didn’t eat sushi, I did find that the sushi chef was very friendly and talkative, and I will probably go back sometime to try the sushi. I hope that they use different rice for their sushi rice.
It was expensive, topping over $30 including the tax. I’m not sure that this meal was worth it. I make this at home myself, and would enjoy it more.
I will likely again come one more time to see if the experience at the sushi bar is better.
Updated: ordered the fried rice and pad thai. The fried rice was mostly tasteless and the pad Thai was not good at all. There was a powdery texture to the noodles and the tofu was like leather. They make sushi good but everything else is a hit or miss.
Updated again: 8/12/2025. I don’t know what’s happened to the restaurant but it’s definitely declined since the first time we went there. Initially, I gave it a five star but since then we’ve eaten here a couple times and it progressively has gotten worse. I’m not sure if they changed the chief or what happened but I don’t think I’ll be eating here anymore. This time I ordered the Thai red curry, which was watered down and had rice noodles rather than rice. Many of the carrots had bad spots on them as you can see from the pictures, but they were just throwing in with the rest of the vegetables. The vegetables were very large and they even had tomatoes cut up in it, which is rather strange. Anyway, I definitely do not recommend the red Thai curry.
The sushi is fresh, sliced in ample sizes (biggest pieces we’ve ever had), tasty, and affordable. I really recommend Origami. The bubble tea and seaweed salad are also quite excellent. We’ll be back very soon.
Definitely the best dragon roll I’ve had in a while.
