It was our first night at the resort, coming off a long travel day, and the mountain was in full holiday-break mode: busy everywhere, families stacked up, and most dinner options effectively spoken for unless you’d booked the day before. Howie’s was the one spot that could take us at 7:00 pm, and honestly, that availability alone made it feel like a win.

The experience matched what a lot of other guests seem to say: it’s friendly, it moves, and it’s built to handle volume. Service was genuinely good, even if you could tell there were newer team members still finding their rhythm—lots of “in training” energy, a little awkwardness here and there, but the intent was solid and everyone stayed upbeat. That counts when a place is slammed.

Food-wise: fine. We got fed, no complaints on that front, but it didn’t feel like something you’d pitch to friends as a “must-do dining moment.” The bigger issue is value—pricing felt aggressive for what hits the table, which is a common theme in resort dining more broadly, and shows up in third-party reviews too.

The menu leans hard into hearty, post-mountain comfort food with a few curveballs for broader diets. Howie’s is the reliable, high-throughput “basecamp diner” where you go to refuel and reset—not the place you go for culinary fireworks.

The room reads like a modern resort diner/bar hybrid: open layout, visible bar presence, practical seating, and a casual “come as you are” feel. Contemporary interior with industrial touches, lots of tables, and a bar that anchors the space—designed for traffic and turnover, not hushed intimacy.

The goulash is very good! The service is friendly and professional. It’s an upbeat place with a casual atmosphere.

The waiters are not enough to serve everyone when it is busy. The food itself is okay and size is pretty big! If you are not hungry, it is better to share with your friends. The nacho is recommended. Burger is fine, the chicken quesadilla is a little bit too salty.
Have breakfast there two days as well, in general it is good except the fruit is not fresh and smells not good.

This was a nice break from the busyness of the Hotel Jay area of the resort. We tried getting a seat at the restaurant at the Hotel on a holiday weekend but they were booked and the Tavern was a mad house. Decided to check out Howies and we were met with open tables, friendly staff, and an extremely quiet atmosphere. Nice change of pace.

On top of that, the Nashville Hot sliders and the Ultimate Grilled cheese dishes were mouth watering. Almost more cheese than I could handle and I’m a cheese lover. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Pretty limited dinner menu but the Hungarian goulash was excellent. Ended up getting it both nights of our stay.

After a long drive in the blizzard like snow, it was so nice to have Arrow take our food order to go. The food was what we needed. The service was amazing. Arrow really took her time making us feel welcomed. While we waited for our food, we plopped up to the bar and had an amazing IPA from Foam Brewers. When our food was ready, this was a quick and easy walk back to our condo.

At 9am.. all food except potatoes ice cold. Everything nearly empty. $22 A PERSON for awful breakfast that you’re lucky for the half plate worth of food that is available, is insanity. No coffee, no prosecco. Truly disappointing way to start a day.

Ate here for dinner for Apre’. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. We got the pork poutine which was served room temperature, and we personally felt that the pork made the dish too salty. The birrias Tacos were very good, but also served room temp. Staff was pleasant and helpful. And obviously the prices were exorbitant, but eating on the mountain, that should come as a shock to anyone.

It’s rare to find good customer service these days.
Excellent customer service by Tracey our waitress. She was attentive, kind and best of all a great sense of humour.
