My brother was coming here last night for his birthday (favorite restaurant), so I called ahead and talked to the hostess and told her I wanted to surprise him when he was leaving with a large pepperoni pizza. I gave her his & wife’s description and she called me back once they arrived and I ordered the pizza which they gave him on his way out from his “Irish twin”. I talked to a couple people there during this process and they were absolutely phenomenal and the kind of people you want to represent your restaurant! My brother called on his way home and raved about how they handled my surprise and had an amazing dinner!! 5***

We were on the way to Canada and had a night halt at this small town. it was a weekday evening, and this area was deserted (did not know that their main street [Cornelia St] had all the food chain restaurants)
The restaurant is very old but keeps the old charm intact. They have been in business for 60 years and claim their customers are pretty close to being family. Arnie’s upstairs dining room almost feels like a relative’s formal dining room.

* Gingerbread: I am not an expert on Expert on Italian food, but gingerbread was never like this. they just kept it in a toaster and cheese slice and that’s it… see the photo. I felt like I was eating a big cheese piece on normal bread – 0/5.
* Shrimp Scampi- so they just brought boiled spaghetti with shrimp… IMO, it was not cooked at all, they might have tossed it in a wok, but nope, it was not edible at all. Upon asking, all we heard was – we make it like that. We returned it.
* Hot Turkey Sandwich: considering all the food we got, I guess I am satisfied with the sandwich…
Server (fat lady, I am not judging folks)- she was good though, sweet and patient with us.
It’s just food was not at all good, and we did not have a nice experience here.

Such a nice place just a couple of minutes from the highway. Really nice food, affordable prices. Even when converting to CAD, it’s still a good price. We will come back. It was a bit crowded, but the waitress managed everyone as best as possible.

We ordered a lot of food and it all was excellent. They have a bar eating room along with an upstairs dinner room. All original look and still family owned for over 70 years. Would recommend everyone if in Plattsburgh to stop for a bite to eat!

Came to this restaurant because of Google Reviews, unfortunately the service was awful and lacking hospitality. It started right away when 14 of us showed up and they said right away they couldn’t accommodate us… Without even asking How are you or anything. We should have turned away but most of the group wanted pasta and we were hungry. The lasagna and the spaghetti & meatballs were tasty. The Italian Hot Sausage sandwich and the Chicken Alfredo was so-so. We also got charged full adult price for our kids meals…not cool.

My husband and I decided to go out for the 1st time in a very long time! We sat at the bar to have a drink or two. The older woman behind the bar took our order.( Very unwelcoming from the beginning ) We asked for a menu.. her reply was what do you want to drink.. no menu was given! We ordered two drinks. We were planning on eating there but wanted to enjoy a drink or two first. So when we asked her if she could do a shot…. Her response was yes I can do that but that would be it! When asked why her response was… I already put enough alcohol in your drinks! Then everyone around us got quite and became very uncomfortable. She then ignored us.. She was very rude and gave off racist vibes. Not happy and will never support a business like that! I don’t know about the food or cooks but this particular woman ruined the atmosphere! As a combat veteran family we will never go back to this establishment!

One of the guys at the hotel I stayed at and another of my doctor friends recommended Arnie’s and I’m so glad I took to their recommendation. I thoroughly enjoyed my meals. I ordered the grilled liver and onions and spaghetti with sauce. Omg the grilled liver and onions were everything and more. The guy at the bar was very very friendly, I also met a lot of nice people there. I recommend this restaurant if you are in Plattsburgh don’t think twice just go try them out.
