As for the servers, they were very patient and had a bit of the gas…but we were acting the maggots. To settle myself from my merriment, I had some cheesy curry fries (A). Once upon the table, the bowl soon disappeared after my friends devoured them. Plenty of gooey cheese and thick cut fries. I dredge one through ketchup…before you condemn me as a heretic, it was amazing. An experiment that was a success. The servers just to bring this full circle were awesome.”Fair play, you did a great job!
So as the hour was upon us of noon, it seemed logical to order a proper Irish Breakfast known in Ireland as drumroll, Breakfast…well a fry-up…but my joke was funny…so think I…anyways soon plates of eggs cooked to order (I saw poached eggs, medium hard, over easy, sunny side up) with: toast (perfect for dredging in left over curry sauce or dunking in lovely sunny side egg yolk), beans, grilled mushroom, grilled tomato, black and white pudding, Irish Bangers, Irish Bacon, and Hashbrowns (you could order home fries)…we ordered a side of corned beef hash. It was all more than grand. I saw good looking cottage pies pass by as well as: bar pizzas and lots of other delights. My friend’s daughter order light airy Waffles with nutella…she ate half and smuggled the rest home.
This is a phenomenal place. You can see the pride of the owner and his team at this place.
The hooley ended for us just about 2 pm. My bill came to 172.00 minus tip (Waffles with Nutella ($14), Six Irish Breakfasts ($18), Curry Fries ($9), Hash ($4) plus drinks. We spent $215 total. We left happy and perhaps a little wiser than when we walked in.
The jacks (The toilet) was spacious and clean.
Lots of tvs. I was able to watch some Rugby. My friend Tom went to sing with band.
So what is the Craic? This Public house called The Cottage Bar and Restraunt. It was just a really really nice family time. The owner, Mickey was just a great guy during our time!
This place is a solid A plus ☘️
The Guinness was perfect, the coffee less so, but my other half thought 1030am a bit early for a pint. The Irish breakfast was huge and delicious. Great value too. We relaxed and were never rushed. Servers were friendly. We will definitely repeat the journey to this charming bar and restaurant. The overall breakfast menu is creative and extensive and portions all seem generous.
We arrived at 630pm. And figured it would be a while due to it being a Saturday and the time.
We were seated immediately, had great service and fantastic food!
We ordered fish & chips, and burger, steak tips and the fish sandwich with chowder.
