We are a family ran from scratch Italian restaurant. Wood fired pizza, fresh pasta and craft cocktails. Our original location is located in Roseville and has been in business since 2011. We started a family in Placerville and decided to open an additional restaurant in our home town in 2017. Close to beautiful Apple Hill and all the Sierra Foothills wine region has to offer.

The service was friendly but not attentive at all. It was a Saturday night so they were pretty busy. We had to chase down the waitstaff multiple times to get what we needed.
Cocktails were OK but the “Bloody Mobsta” was a total ripoff. $17 gets you a decent Bloody Mary with house made BM mix and a skewer with a few pieces of salumi and an olive and some peppers.
The entrees were a total disappointment. The pasta was overcooked. My friends said their dishes were just OK but definitely not worth the price. My Chicken Piccata was awful! No browning or flavor on the chicken. The sauce was a gloppy, greasy, flavorless mess that tasted mainly of raw flour. I asked for a whole lemon to squeeze on top to add enough flavor to make it barely edible and I still couldn’t finish it. The menu advertised spinach, which I thought might be a novel and flavorful addition to the classic recipe, but there were just a few leaves of spinach.
The live music was WAY TOO LOUD! We had to shout at each other just to be heard. And it seemed to be getting louder with every song. We might have tried the desserts, but couldn’t wait to get out of there because of the music.
Won’t be going back.
Unfortunately we were thoroughly disappointed. Spent $166 on a take out order. The waitress handed over a brown bag which was only part of the order. my mom and daughter sat there an extra 5 minutes wondering where the pizzas were (the rest of our order) because the host was off doing other things my mom asked the chef who’s pizzas were sitting on the counter, it was ours. The chef handed them to her. .
Now the food. The chicken in the Picata I ordered was so tough it made me want to call them and let them know they are selling $27 plates with borderline inedidle food. Also, absolutely NO KIDS MENU ON THE ONLINE ORDERING SYSTEM, I WAS FORCED TO BUY A $23 CHEESE PIZZE FOR MY KID THAT THEY SOLD ON THE KIDS MENU FOR $12. Be aware of that!
I have seen the updates reviews and was timid about trying this place again, but because we once loved it, I held out hope. Lastnighrs experience was the nail in the coffin. Too high of prices for low quality food and service.
This time we just came in for a drink and listen to some music. That was a mistake!!! We got a beer, glass of wine, two cookies, and a microwaved Italian bread dessert thing that was tough…All for $56!!! And the bar tenders were puttering around like it was really busy (it wasn’t) and forgot orders. The food took forever to come out (if the bread dessert had been made fresh and not just warmed up, i would have fully understood!).
This is the latest incarnation of this restaurant location and i hope someone else comes in and puts a reasonable spin on a restaurant here because this one is ridiculous!!!! We won’t be going back until they do!
