The Nugget is a longtime Santa Barbara area outpost for American cuisine. A classic saloon style venue offering a diverse menu featuring steaks, chops, salads & burgers. Right off the California 101 and steps from the Pacific Ocean. We pride ourselves on serving high-quality food and creating lasting memories for our customers. What a CUTE place! Very unassuming from the outside, but full of life and tasty surprises on the inside! Heard this place had the best steaks in town and had to give it a shot. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like you’re in a local hang out and that’s exactly what this place is.
This restaurant has been around for over 50 years serving up delicious steaks in much more! I had the sirloin steak salad (made using organic mixed greens), cooked medium rare, and it was absolutely delicious. The steak was so tender. It could be cut with my fork and perfectly cooked!
Will definitely be back to try some other delicious looking items on the menu!

I was on a quick lunch break and the server was considerate and helped me get seated on the patio as well as my food expedited with a to go box so I can get back to work. The Crunch burger with onion rings was absolutely delicious.

I’ve been looking for a quiet, friendly, relaxed place where I can just sit with friends and talk, eat a good meal, and enjoy some time together. The football game was on the TV. It was not invasive to the atmosphere.

We told some friends of ours what a great place this was and how good the beef stroganoff was. We were completely embarrassed when we took them to eat there!
Let’s start with the service. Our server was very kind in the beginning, placed the umbrella so the sun would not be in our eyes. While the bar drinks were served quickly, the water for the table never arrived and we were there several hours. Once she took our order, she began to bring out all our dishes all at once, the appetizers and the meals. When we asked her to hold back on the meals so that we could eat our appetizers first, her reply was “They are ready so I will have to have them put them under the warmer”. Then she forgot about us and our food. When the food came out it was old and dried out. Can you imagine that there was a tossed salad sitting there for over half an hour, with the medium rare steak under the warmer? The salad was soggy and the steak was tough/overcooked.
Then there’s the atmosphere. As we were sitting outside, it was perfect the first hour. But the last 2 1/2 hours? Somebody came along and parked their pick up truck right next to the outdoor eating area with a small yapping dog in the back. The dog never stopped barking the entire 2 1/2 hours. Yes, he went straight inside of the restaurant and never heard his dog barking the entire time. Another couple left immediately as they could not take it.

I am a 31 year old women who just got denied a beer at this place, I was so excited to stop by and this experience definitely ruined my day! Yes, I didn’t have my ID, but it’s obvious that I am not 21. My friend is also my age and had her ID. I get it, it’s the law but cmon, let’s evaluate the scene and use our best judgement. Even some of the people sitting at the bar thought it was ridiculous and unfair. Very disappointed with the bartender and establishment.
