I was very, very happy with this place because they not only serve the food in Real home cooking family style bowls and plates like the ride bowl and steel silverware and the side dish trays are all metal for you. Get the galbi (short ribs) on a hot plate. For $29.95, you can get a combo meal with short ribs on a hot plate on a bed of onions and soft tofu soup (any flavor and ingredients you want … a nice choice of items) that comes with a pack of seaweed, 5 side dishes (vege pancake, raw egg to crack into your tofu soup as soon as you get it, bean sprouts, pickled cucumber, and kimchi. The beef tofu soup was such a tasty and flavorful soup. You are allowed to request the level of spice or no spice. And the ingredients were so clean and fresh and high quality. The beef slices were plenty and good quality bc it was mostly lean ribeye meat. The soup tasted like it was stewed for hours with lots of good flavors bc it was not just water with salt and red pepper sauce w anchovy flavor. The galbi short ribs were seasoned well with a sweet taste and sesame seeds and had plenty of meat on the bone. For a simple sit down cafeteria style food court right next to Hmart, this is a great option to not have done in service and pay tip. You can enjoy food here and people watch at the same time. And you can plan for your next meal at the Japanese or Chinese or mochi or noodle places or bbq chicken or Paris baguette place in the same food court. Huge free parking lot. And in the same mall as Costco and Great Clips and so much more. A great place to eat then grocery shop. Just one thing was that you have to put the raw egg in as soon as you get the food so the heat of the tofu soup cooks the egg. It might not get too hot to solidify the yolk or egg white so hurry if you want your egg cooked.

The food court was very busy during dinner hours but the food was yummy and came out in a timely manner. The cashier was not Korean but I didn’t know and kept talking to her in Korean lol. We had to check our order numbers just in case after we found out she was not Korean.
The owner came out while we were ordering and was super friendly and helped us get our food to the table, even though she didn’t have to.
Unlike some of the other places in this location, they give you actual silverware (in my case, goldware) and it was a lot nicer experience than trying to eat your soup with one of those flimsy plastic spoons. The chopsticks were still the wooden ones though.
I had the galbitang and it was good. Meat was falling off the bones literally, and the broth was yummy. Only caveat was the noodles – they were overcooked.
Comes with 3 barchan items – in my case, soybean sprouts, kimchi and cucumber kimchi.
At $20 per dish in a food court, I’d say it’s pretty steep. Still, I’d come back. Maybe for the Sul-lung-tang (cheaper but similar) next time.

I love this place! I come here every Sunday after church for a nice Korean meal. My personal favorite is the Bulgogi beef it is amazinggg!!! The staff is wonderful, so respectful, friendly, and understanding! I love the market in general such a welcoming place.

We had a great experience at Chodang Tofu! We shared a couple of plates so we could try different dishes, and everything was delicious. The staff was so kind and gave us great recommendations. The presentation was beautiful, and the hot plates were our favorite — so flavorful and satisfying. We’ll definitely be coming back !

They’re pretty quick to get the orders out and the food is fantastic every time. I highly recommend dinning in and get one of their hot stone bibimbops, especially #28 with spicy chicken (picture attached).
Portions are large and usually too much for me to finish and are a good size to share with someone.

I am writing to express my significant disappointment with a recent experience at your restaurant. I ordered the Chef’s Special Combo Meal and found the included rice portion to be very small, tasteless, and the overall meal overpriced.
My dissatisfaction increased when I requested an additional serving of rice and was informed by the cashier that there would be a $2 charge. This was surprising to me, as in Asian culture, it is customary to receive complimentary rice refills with a main dish, especially when the food is spicy or salty. I reiterated my request to the cashier twice, and she then spoke with the owner.
The owner, a middle-aged man, came out and rudely denied my request with a dismissive and unprofessional attitude. I pointed out that I had paid $30 for the meal and had even left a 15% tip for self-service, yet I was being charged for a small bowl of rice and received such a negative reaction.
As a business owner myself, I believe that caring for customers and addressing their needs is crucial for success. This experience was very poor, and I will not be returning to your restaurant. Your online reviews also reflect similar concerns.

Located in Hmart food court. Loud area and very busy. The food was good and served hot . But at the price point of $24 for spicy chicken with rice I would rather go to a Korean restaurant with sit down service. You had to clean your table items when you were completed with your meal.

I know the photo on menu is for sample only, but if i paid $23.99 gabli or $29.99 for tofu+gabli i do expect to have more than six pieces of short ribs lol photos is 2-3x more gabli LOL

I will say that the taste is very very good! for me, its actually taste better than the other new Korean restaurant behind dollar store lol

Got the hot stone beef. I am European and a lot of food here in the US makes my stomach hurt. I was able to eat the entire dish without any pain, I will definitely be coming back! Also the Service was great I can only recommend coming here if you are craving some Korean food!
