A little late getting to this review. Stopped here for my last meal on my way out of Asheville at the end of November. So wish I came sooner! Staff were very friendly and explained menu items well. There is cozy counter seating inside and a nice area for outdoor seating. The fried plantains especially are amazing. Lots of menu items are gluten-free. Very affordable prices.

We’re out-of-towners, visiting the area. We understand that Asheville has a real lively and diverse food scene. We were looking for something out of ordinary without paying high prices and came across Little Chango. With GPS we had no problem finding it. It’s a cute, modest structure with some counter seating and an outside covered patio with tables and more counter space. Take out is available. We were interested in their arepas which they were well reviewed for. I ordered the shredded flanked steak: Ropa Vieja; and my wife the vegetarian: Jibara. Both had the black bean mash and sweet plantain, but a different flavoring sauce. They were excellent. Additionally, we ordered yucca fries which we really enjoyed as well. Great service and clean facility.

We visited 30th Oct and managed to get a counter seat. The staff were super friendly and explained everything on the menu. They even let us try a beer before buying witch was really appreciated. The food was superb! We had corn fritter, yucca fries and arapas (flank steak and pulled pork). Even ended up buying the t-shirt!

What a wonderful find not far from most hotels in asheville! The arepas we got (pork shoulder and beef) were both incredibly flavorful. Mixed with one side of the rice and beans it was a perfect lunch for two.
For drinks we got the Mexican larger and the pineapple chimoy. Highly recommend both but the chimoy definitely came out on top!
Bummed we couldn’t try to Chorizo today but i just know it would easily be the top item on the menu!

I came here on a recommendation and so glad I did! These are really phenomenal areas. I mean i dont think I’ve tasted better in my life. I had the Pernil and it was quite possibly one of the most perfect dishes ever! I wish I wasn’t from out of town or id be back daily. Only wish there was more indoor seating!

This place was amazing! Was in Asheville a couple weeks back, and before I left to go there somebody recommended I eat at Little Chango, and get the pork shoulder. Was not disappointed! Incredibly tender! The fried yucas were amazing, too. As were the beans and rice. Good size portions, and fairly priced. Also, had a chance to chat with one of the owners, and she was extremely nice! Definitely recommend checking this place out!

For a small place, it packs a huge punch! Amazing food, great service, even though limited space to eat on premises. All of our plates were tasty, fresh, and looked extremely appetizing. Definitely a must visit place. Parking is available on the street or at the adjacent lot.

As a fellow ropa vieja maker, theirs is great. Maybe the ratio of beef to olive/capers was not optimal. But if you have never had ropa vieja, it is a very good restaurant version. The actual arepa is a bit too doughy for me. But price is reasonable and great flavors
