They have upgraded the interior, it looks better. Good food, “sit anywhere” kinda place. Service for dine in was slow, and waitied longer than normal for food. Another couple left about 10 min after being seated for no service. They are quick on the takeout.

Everytime I get food here my salsa is frozen. Last time I ordered they were rude. Decided to give them one more try and today they charged me $5 more than the total they told me. Definitely don’t recommend this place. The meat also feels like you’re chewing on bones and tastes like pennys. Go somewhere else if you actually want good service and good food.

Absolutely loved this place. My uncle goes all the time and he recommended it. We had steak burritos, they were flavorful and delicious. My mom had the shrimp soup, it was spicier than she would like but it was still very delicious with fresh ingredients.

Had a great time here! They waiter was super excellent along with the rest of the staff! The only problem I had here was I ordered ground beef enchiladas and the meet was so salty I could not eat it but as soon as we let the waiter know he went and informed the cook and they did not charge us for the enchiladas and they never got an attitude or mad because of the feedback. I would definitely return try something else. This is a favorite or my Mom and daughter.

I love this Mexican restaurant. It’s my go to for all my Mexican food needs! The food is always hot a fresh! The cook always is so nice to me and always strikes up a conversation. He always says “bye hunny! Same time tomorrow!” Friendly, great food, when I come in there isn’t very many people with is a good thing for me, however their food is good and prices are good and they should have more customers.

What a wonderful find! My daughter and I were out and about enjoying ourselves and got a sudden craving for Mexican. We stumbled upon Taqueria El Torito and I’m so glad we did! (Must note, when we arrived there were only 2 other tables occupied, but by the time we left, 40 minutes later, the place was hopping! And at an odd eating time, 2:30ish, and I was so glad, because I want them to get ALL the business). Our waitress was so very nice. Chips and salsa came to the table when she greeted us. They were very yummy. I even ordered guacamole, which was ridiculously tasty, and queso for extra dipping. I had enchiladas and my daughter had a quesadilla the size of her plate! Both were fantastic!! The cost was extremely reasonable. The chef called to us, as we were paying at the counter, thanking us, and I couldn’t help myself from gushing to him about how wonderful the meal was. He adorably responded, “Good, then we’ll see you tomorrow.” I love a chef with quick wit. We will without a doubt make this our go-to in Belvidere when we want to fill our Mexican cravings. They even have Mexican gum packs at the counter, as a courtesy, which my daughter happily grabbed one to take home to daddy. And we were so elated with our experience, we bought a few World’s Finest Chocolate bars before we departed. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

We ordered 4 meals. 3 out of the 4 were unsatisfactory due to texture of meat, either overcooked or old. Rice had no flavor, beans seemed like they are from the can. The salsa seemed like they were lacking peppers. We dont know if the eggs came from a chicken. The 4th person was a garbage disposal so his vote really doesn’t count. We dont value his opinion. Overall it wasn’t the best experience.

First time here so only got 3 steak tacos and they were really good. Only real downfall was the chips for the salad were stale. Bad way to start my meal.

The food was really good prices were good. The asada was a little dry, the menudo was GREAT carnita tacos were great, BUT my only complaint is that YOU DONT SERVE LIME WITH YOUR TACOS! LIME AND TACOS GO HAND IN HAND!!!!!
