The customer service was just as poor. No one greeted us warmly, checked on us during the meal, or came by to see if we needed anything. We even had to get up and go to the counter just to get our receipt.
As for the food, my fried fish meal with rice, beans, and a small salad slong with my nephew’s nuggets and fies were the only thing that was actually good. Unfortunately, my sister wasn’t as lucky, her chicken breast and shrimp was extremely dry, and the plantains were dry and flavorless. They were served with a sour cream and ketchup mix that didn’t help improve the taste.
Overall, this visit was uncomfortable and disappointing from start to finish. I hope the restaurant takes steps to improve both their service and the dining experience for all customers.
The food was extremely unflavored and just basic. Wasn’t memorable or a meal I would go out of my way to eat. The staffing appeared to be strictly Spanish speaking.. which, i had no issue with if our one server was slightly more inviting and explained the menu to us since it was mostly names without images or really explained in English.
I’m not sure if they didnt flavor it because we are white or if they just didnt do spices with their food… the food was good, however the fat on the meat was slightly more than I would’ve liked, no spice or flavor (painfully bland) and just overall not memorable. Portions were small but extremely filling. We ate at roughly 2 and didnt feel hungry for the rest of the night. Which is the only real good thing I can say about the food.
I truly wish that I could give a better review since it wasnt horrible food, just not memorable and bland…. the service was ok but overall not tip worthy or attentive.
My wife of 30 years is from El Salvador, so I’m familiar with the food and I was not disappointed. I’ve had Salvadoran food in literally every corner of the United States, including the country of El Salvador. This was at the top of the list and that’s not stretching the truth.
Everybody was friendly and nice and yeah it helps if you speak a little bit of Spanish but it’s not needed if you know how to point and use your fingers. They can Speak some English but don’t be a Karen and leave a bad review because of it. My Spanish is limited, but it didn’t take away from the experience and getting my order made to perfection.
I started off with the traditional Horchata, which is a nice sweet drink. I then had a variety of Papusas, which is the national dish along with some fried yucca. I also grabbed a dessert quesadilla which is basically a sweet type of bread that is delicious.
If you’ve never had Salvadoran food then I would recommend you give this establishment a chance because it is one of the best.
