Established in 1948. The whimsical Dick’s Zesto’s has been beloved for decades by locals and visitors who come for the simple small town family experience nearly as much as for the ice cream. Zesto’s offers the same classic recipes and menu items that generations of families remember. Sprinkled with some new and fun options for those feeling adventurous. Soft Serve Ice Cream is the signature draw, but don’t forget about the changing sherbet’s and our famous Zesto loose meat burger and chili dog! Zesto was first opened in Fremont in 1948 at the corner of Fourth and Bell and has been at its current home at Military and Broad in downtown Fremont since the mid-50’s.

What a disappointment. I drove to Fremont just to go to Zesto. I support this type of vintage establishment whenever I can, and was especially drawn to its cool sign outside. However 10 bucks for a mediocre Hot dog was beyond ridiculous. There were no prices on the menu board, but I never dreamed it would be that much. Might’ve been different if it was anything special, but it wasn’t. I want to see them thrive, so I hope they can find a way to turn this around.

Ordered a banana split and it was super disappointing. Instead of three full scoops, we got three half scoops. When I brought it up, I was told “there’s a lot of ice cream there,” but it clearly wasn’t. The guy before us had way more on his cone than we had in a whole bowl.
Maybe it was just an off day — or maybe it was who we were. It’s a small town, and to be honest, it didn’t really feel like we were welcome. That’s the part that bothered me the most.

Energetic teenagers are ready to serve you numerous frosty ice cream concoctions and fast food items at this dated venue on the corner of two main streets in downtown Fremont. The fast melting ice cream is guaranteed to give you a headache on a hot day if you eat it too quickly!

Zesto used to be a treat every Spring when they opened. The prices used to be higher than fast food, but you got great service, and great quality.
Now the prices are much higher, the staff isn’t friendly, and the product is inconsistent.
I stopped on my way home from a swim meet tonight, and my son ordered before I could look at the menu…a small malt. His friend ordered the same, so I made it three.
$20.24…I repeated my order, and he showed me how Huge the “small” was. Sure, I guess…but $6.75 for a small malt is nuts. The ingredients weren’t mixed, and there was too much malt (and I LOVE malt).
I get that prices are going up, but this place is a hole in the wall with little overhead. I’ll just go across the street to Runza next time.

This place has always been my favorite ice cream shop. You have to get a large hot fudge marshmallow malt. Absolutely amazing. They do great busy towards the end of the day and on weekends. I would say get there early. Also, the crunch coat is amazing as well. I would absolutely suggest trying the local favorite!!!

New management is terrible. The staff was rude. I had to reorder my fries because they didn’t listen the first time. The fries were nasty annd dripping with grease and they gave the smallest amount of fries I have ever received. Ice cream is supposed to be happy. You had one job. Do better.

We stopped by last night and ordered 2 Hurricanes with one mix-in each. There wasn’t any choice of size & we paid $15 for them! It was a 12 oz cup that wasn’t full – there was a solid inch or more that was empty.
They tasted good but we won’t be visiting again. We’ll find somewhere where we can get various sizes and a more reasonable cost.
