I’m from CT and was visiting NJ. I ordered takeout, and only after returning did I find that Malabar mutton curry was missing from my order. This is extremely frustrating and careless. Because I was already back, I couldn’t return to get what I paid for. Basic order accuracy was clearly not a priority.

We ordered the crab masala speciality and I noticed several black spots on the crab that were quite alarming. These spots strongly resemble parasites or leech eggs. Unaware, me and my children accidentally consumed a portion of this curry. After noticing the spots, we immediately lost our appetite and felt sick. We are concerned about the quality and safety of Anjappar’s seafood. It is evident that they did not properly clean the crab before adding it to the curry. This experience has not only caused discomfort but also a genuine fear for our health.

My non vegetarian husband was on cloud 9 with all his favorite dishes he got for the banana leaf Thali (unlimited) over the weekend.
The servers were polite and helpful. The place looks a little dark. But big projector screen with South Indian Songs playing.
Also, I left my purse there and had to go back to pickup another day. These guys kept it safe and very helpful.

If you are looking for authentic South Indian taste then Anjappar is a place to visit.We ordered a masala dosa and a ghee roast dosa, both tasted great. The sambhar and both chutneys were delicious. Here you have to place an order yourself using the ipad screen at the counter.The servers were nice and graciously served the food.

This place used to be my favorites in 2010 time. It was so authentic. Between 2014-2017 , quality came down 🙁
I went there in February and Bang- they are back . Fantastic food now .. loved everything except the wait times …
Parotta with kurma was just excellent!! Chicken fry biryani was outstanding … loved the soup . We also ordered pepper chicken and it was so good.
Food quality was superlative overall. Will go again for sure ..

I would rate 5 stars for this outlet. Whenever we think of having Biryani. We would visit this place. These ppl cook so good Tamil regional recipes like Chicken chukka, Mutton Chukka, Chicken Biryani, Nattu Kozhi Biryani, Mutton/Chicken Pepper fry and more and more.
Every Friday you would have Buffet for Lunch at $12,. I recommend.
If you are from Tamilnadu living in South New Jersey, this is best place I can recommend you for Tamilnadu type Non Vegetarian food.
You can also visit New York Anjappar branch. Which is equally better. However you may end up paying 18% bill as service charges (which is not the case in New Jersey branch)

Very authentic Chattinard cuisine. We had ordered pepper chicken and king fish was appetizers. Chicken dish was very delicious, a bit spicy but amazing flavors. I felt kind fish was extra cooked /fried. Then we ordered Prawn masala, Lamb masala and aappam – all the dishes were cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and all flavors were very good.

Also ordered mutton sukka varuval…its the worst ever. We have had better food from anjappad.
I know its ‘end of the day’ order but if you don’t want to cook please don’t send then.
