I have been going to Pepe’s for years now. I spend no less than $50 every time I go. I have referred countless people to that restaurant and many times it’s a hit or miss. I have been kind when they mess up order but I recently went to Pepe’s on Friday night 02/07/26. I ordered what I always which is carnitas fries with extra meat and extra cheese, Lg, I go every Friday and this time I asked if they could layer my extra cheese and meat because they will just pack it on top leaving the bottom fries bare. So while taking my order the big girl just left and the new girl didn’t even know my order. I asked if they could layer my food and it was bit of confusion but I was still very nice about it. When I got to the window, after I paid, not only were they all staring at me but they were laughing at my order, they kept laughing and looking at me, so I rolled my windows up until my food was ready. I didn’t appreciate that because I am a paying customer and for them to be laughing, talking about my order and staring at me was a lot and I won’t be goin back. Then get home and realize that it wasn’t even extra anything. I paid and didn’t receive what I paid for. I was going to call since it was too fr to drive back but I just threw it away. They never have to sorry about me going back or telling others about it. Also they could stand to learn better customer service. They be rude, not speaking, telling me to wait rudely when ordering in the drive through like we owe them something. That’s exactly why that tip cup be empty because on top of waiting for 14 years for the food, the service isn’t great and depending on who’s cooking, the food is terrible but Friday was my last straw.

I was fasting for a routine blood draw this morning. When I was done with that, I was REALLY hungry. I had a hankerin’ for a breakfast burrito. I thought, “Hmmmm… who has a good breakfast burrito around here?” I know that I like them at Farmer Boys, R Burger, and Gus Jr. but none of those places was convenient. I had been hearing the buzz about Pepe’s “Finest Mexican Food since 1962” for awhile now. Someone even mentioned recently that they make a mean breakfast burrito. They were pretty much on the way to my next stop so I decided to go there.
I pulled into the parking lot and it was empty. “Hmmmm… was all the buzz overblown?” I went inside and scoped out the menu. I was debating between breakfast tacos and a breakfast burrito. I decided on a breakfast burrito with bacon. It was $10. Breakfast is served all day, by the way.
I sat down and waited for my order. I noticed that people started to trickle in. The next thing that I knew, the place was kind of busy. I guess I timed my arrival just right today.
My burrito arrived in less than 10 minutes. I cut it in half, snapped a photo, and dug in. It was filled with bacon, egg, potato, cheese, beans, and some sort of salsa. I wasn’t too sure about the beans at first. My favorite breakfast burritos are beanless. I was pleasantly surprised though. The beans were pretty good. As a matter of fact, the entire burrito was pretty good. I would definitely order one again. My only complaint, if you could call it that, was that I wish there was just a little more bacon inside.
There were multiple salsas to choose from. I tried the green one and one of the red ones. I think the red one must have been the “hotter” red one. Both were good but I liked the red one better.
For my beverage, I filled my cup with about 2/3 Orange Bang! and about 1/3 Sprite. It went well with my burrito.
Overall, my first visit to Pepe’s was a positive experience. I would definitely eat there again.

I give this place a solid 4 out of 5 stars. For the price, you can’t beat the amount of food you get for your money! The carne asada fries were good enough to keep this restaurant on my radar next time I’m in the area. If I could change anything, I would say that the fries could use a little seasoning. But other than that, everything else was great! Oh! And the service was very pleasant! Thank you for the wonderful meal and kind atmosphere!

I think they take pride In their service, which they really have good service. Also cleanliness of their business. I ordered the Carne Asada burrito. The steak was a bit old and dried out not what I expected reading the reviews and the popularity of this place it also lacked flavoring a bit bland and just overall hard and extra chewy . The salsa are good. The soda is fresh and the location is clean though maybe I just came at a bad time of the day.

I used to go to Pepe’s in Covina for their amazing hard shell tacos, so I was thrilled when one opened up in my hometown. I’ve been here a few times, and it never disappoints. The food is always delicious, especially the hard shell tacos—I love the potato and shredded beef options! The service is consistently friendly, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained. Overall, it’s always a great experience enjoying fast, delicious food here.

It’s your typical Mexican joint. Staff in the drive thru should learn customer service though. The teenagers or whoever did not greet, are curt, and waited for me to say something into the intercom and just overall had a “what do you want” attitude in the tone as if I’m disturbing them. Plenty of other Mexican places I can go to that has warm service.

The food is always fresh and tasty.
The mini taquitos are always fresh and delicious with a generous helping of guacamole.
All their other options are delicious as well, they have many other options to choose from.

This place was kind of a letdown. After all the hype. Everybody kept saying how good it was but I found it to be pretty much just like every other place. Order the taquito plate and it only came with two taquitos with a whole bunch of guacamole on it which is cool but would have been nice to at least have a third one from paying 15 bucks. Maybe some lettuce and sour cream or something. The beans and rice were phenomenal and they hooked it up a lot of guacamole. Interior is what it is and there’s lots of parking outside. Because it is so popular with so many people. I will come back and try some more food and hopefully raise my rating. But right now it’s nothing special.

I love Pepe’s but they seem to always mess up our orders when going thru the drive thru?!!! After repeating our order when ordering then again at the window they seem to mess it up!! Either it’s the cook not reading or the order person screwing it up!!! I hate to open up our tacos and burritos at the window but that’s exactly what I’m doing next trip !!!!’

We stopped in to give this place a try and man am I glad we did. Their shredded beef nachos took me back to my childhood and the memory of the nachos I used to get at a long gone place in San Dimas. The prices are good and the food is on point!
