This is no longer Beverly’s Soul Food. As of March 2025, it is now Taqueria Martin (although they haven’t yet changed the sign out front, though they did change the sign over the door ). It has good Mexican food. I had the steak fundido, guacamole, refried beans, and bean dip and a chorizo street taco andunsweetened tea. The bean dip is covered with queso blanco in the attached photo. The bean dip is good. The salsa for the customary tortilla chips is homemade and a little spicy, though a little thin. There is lots of seating though parking is limited. Seating is comfortable. The restaurant is within fifty feet of the highway, so it is easy to find. The restaurant is clean, but I didn’t use the restroom, so I can’t speak to that. Prices arereasonable and they do take plastic.

My husband and I finally dined in about 10 days ago, and loved our experience at Taqueria Martin. Our drinks, and chips and fresh made salsa were on the table quickly. We also ordered guacamole which is always freshly made and DELICIOUS. I had the Pollo Marinado, my husband had the QuesaBirria with a side of beans. Both were outstanding!!!

In addition to their menu, they have daily offerings with several choices of entrees and veggies. We had the baked chicken, hamburger steak, & sm catfish plate with greens, fried okra, cornbread/hushpuppies. We each thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was well seasoned, the portions were generous, the ckn & hb steak were tender & juicy, the catfish was perfect. It does take a while because they cook as ordered, but it is worth the wait! Ms. Beverly and her family are very friendly and welcoming!!! We will be back every time we are in the area.

I find that similar restaurants have meat in everything even the veggies. I avoid cute restaurants like this because of their limited menu. However, if you are a vegetarian you are safe here. Go for it and enjoy! Thanks Beverly!

I’ve been wanting to drop in here for a long time and I wasn’t disappointed when I finally did. The small catfish lunch had enough food for two grown men including delicious fried catfish, okra and french fries with homemade tartar sauce and green tomato relish. It took just a little longer than I would have liked to receive my order when I was ready to go. But I won’t hold that against them because the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend

Food is wonderful it is so good it is really a soul food place the only thing is that it’s all cooked fresh so it may take a little more time than it being pre-cooked but that’s what you want

Some of the best catfish I’ve ever had. Everything was home made and you could tell by the taste, ever side dish I had was awesome!, the staff was very friendly and welcoming and the prices are very reasonable. Everytime I drive through Gould Arkansas. I try to stop and grab a plate even if I’m not hungry.

Was passing through and took a chance, but what a great surprise. Genuine “home cooked” and do tasty. Had the Beef tips on rice with sweet cornbread. You have to try their green beans. Do NOT forget their yams!!
