I usually order pad Thai w/tofu and it’s always delicious. I’ve also tried the dishes pictured (forgetting their names, but I adored the tofu w/rice dish), veg spring rolls, & crab rangoons. Their Thai tea is also good.
I’m from Vegas originally and have lived in Southern CA, Geneva, Switzerland, & PA as well. I also lived with an Asian family for some years and just happen to love cooking and eating Asian food the most – especially because it’s so versatile and I’m a vegetarian (other than when it comes to fish sauce bc I like fish sauce lol). This place is decently authentic, and while there aren’t a lot of Thai/Asian options in or near Jackson, this is the best spot you’ll find.
If you’ve frequented Vegas or are a local to the city, Annie’s is very similar to Archie’s Thai Bistro, which was one of my favorite spots there.
They bring out the food decently quickly and it’s always fresh. I love their spice levels as well, because they vary slightly (most likely depending on who’s cooking or bc they aren’t using exact measurements) – which I usually take a good sign. Someone is measuring with their heart back there haha.
I have a decent base spice tolerance, so a 2 on their defined spectrum is mild to me. 3 level is either quite spicy or medium, and I haven’t tried “Annie Spicy” yet, because I need to start eating spicy foods more regularly again first. If you’re the sort of person who finds black pepper spicy, get a 1 or 0.
We ordered Pad Thai noodles, red curry fried rice with tofu, and Tom Yum soup. The Tom Yum soup stood out because it arrived with rice, making it almost a complete meal. Its flavors were balanced, delivering a satisfying combination of spice and tang. The red curry fried rice with tofu was delicious as well. The curry was rich and flavorful, and the tofu was cooked perfectly, absorbing the essence of the curry. The Pad Thai noodles also met expectations with their fresh ingredients and well-balanced seasoning.
While the taste and quality of all dishes were top-notch, the portion sizes felt a bit small, especially considering the price. Our total came to about $90 for three dishes, which struck me as quite expensive given what we were served. This affected my overall impression, as value for money is important to me.
the high pricing with relatively modest portions means I’m likely to rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
The atmosphere was pleasant with a good amount of comfortable seating. They were playing pleasant music, I assume in Thai. Overall we really enjoyed our lunchtime experience.
Pineapple fried rice was really good. Fried Momos is super bad- Over cooked with predominantly sweet taste. Same was with Tom Kha ( cocunut soup ) doesn’t taste authentic, again predominantly sweet which was surprising. Spices were not blended well.
Good : Portion size was good, lemonade came in a big jug. Fried rice was good
Bad : Dishes were mostly sweet and didn’t taste authentic; costly ( 4 people for 190$ with just one lemonade, no other drinks); felt ratings were manipulated. See the picture of free drink bribe for giving 5 rating. Dishes were hit and miss 50% of the time. Tried only once and will be last, not worth it.
PS: Loved the restaurant opposite Bin 22
Curry was 20 min late after all good was delivered to the table, not mentioned that it was super spicy. When we tried it and didn’t like it. Called manager to explain. But Frank acted up like he didn’t care about it. With the words “ it was on the menu “ “it was on the menu”.
Frank, be a manager, not a menu reader. And do customer service, not talking back with attitude.
Thanks
