Such a pleasant stop before/after the hospital!
When we entered we were immediately greeted and seated.
The place was nice and clean and the woman attended to us right away.
The food was very tasty, I ordered a combination pho and my friend ordered a veggie plate.
The check came at a nice time and we enjoyed the candy they had at checkout. The woman who rang us up was so sweet!
We will be coming here again since I anticipate more hospital visits 🙂

Delicious Pho. Had the meatball pho and gave it some extra spirit with hoisin and sriracha! Lovely people and clean dining area.

We walked in having never been to ANYTHING in Cedar Rapids, before. As we parked there was a police squad car out front as the officers were grabbing their lunch. I asked them what was good and one officer said “Ask him (pointing to the other officer)… he orders here all the time!” So, I did. He recommended the 7.0 (Combination Shrimp, Chicken, and Pork fried rice) and it was delicious. I also ordered fresh spring rolls and they were yummy and managed to convert my friend (who does not like peanut sauce) and had never had spring rolls that weren’t fried, to eat them and proudly exclaim she like them and would “definitely get these again”. Nice people working at the restaurant, too.

Great food and great service. Clean place with a very wide variety. None of us had had this kind of food and we all found something we liked on the menu. Highly recommend giving them a chance to expand your horizons.

Last time I went here 10 years ago or so my pho had bugs in it. They tried to tell me it was pepper. Pepper doesnt have legs. Decided to try them again since it had been so long. It’s now 2026. I got the chicken pho the chicken didn’t taste like chicken and the texture was off and the look of it was old the broth tasted burnt and there was black chunks in the broth and it smelled so bad had high hopes tossed it all bc it was so bad won’t be going back ever again. I think the health dept needs to inspect them.

First time trying Pho in Cedar Rapids. The kids and I have made a habit of trying Pho everywhere we travel. That has taken us across the nation to some great and unusual places and allowed us to taste some amazing food! Hundreds of bowls of Pho have been consumed as we have sought out the perfect bowl.

Tonight the road brought us here. A great location that is on the quiet side of town and with easy parking. Too often, with the food scene exploding over the last 20 years, the ease and accessibility of a dining experience is not what it used to be as restaurants crave being in the glow and spotlight of the city center. Places such as this restaurant are a treasure not just for the food but also for the natural comfort that a quiet location offers.

On to the meal…

Service was good. We came in during off hours and had our pick of seating. The staff was attentive but allowed us time to peruse the menu, striking the perfect balance!

We started with crab Rangoon which arrived quickly and was pleasantly large in size. Flavors were good with the traditional sweet dipping sauce. Timing could have been a bit better. Before we had more than a bite or two of the Rangoon, our meals were at our table.

The pho was what would have been considered a large 15 years ago. It was refreshing trying not to be faced with a small sink worth of food.

The flavors were good if not a little under developed. The broth specifically could use a bit of development but there was a wide selection of accoutrements for seasoning, including fish sauce.

Overall a great experience. Would happily return and wander through the menu more!

Good atmosphere, service was totally off,I come here with my fiancé waitress was talking with him not even asking me what I would like we did asked refill from her but she was too busy looking on her phone. Spring rolls was off but Pho soup was delicious and that’s only reason I would go with four stars.

Phong Lan is hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant! My go-to dishes are the spring rolls, Pho, and the absolutely delicious spicy beef lemongrass – I crave it all the time. This small, locally owned mom and pop shop never disappoints. Highly recommend! Yum!
