Popular spot dishing up hearty portions of traditional Mexican fare in a small, unassuming space.

Easily the most authentic Mexican restaurant in SLC, as soon as you walk in you truly feel like you’re transported into a casual restaurant in the heart of DF. It’s the best Mexican food I had ever since I went to Mexico in 2014, a remarkable experience and will be coming back for more. Ordered huaraches with Cochinita pibil(a delicious pulled pork with adobo from Yucatán) and it was made to perfection, not to mention the use of Nopales(roasted cactus plant)a Mexican staple hard to find anywhere else.

What a cozy little restaurant. Went in and instantly felt we went south of the border. The atmosphere had an authentic feel and full of personality. There was no wait and it was seat yourselves wherever you want. The service was quick and brought some of the best chips and salsa we think we have ever had while we waited for our order. Ordering was fast and the food arrived very quick. The servings was very generous for the low price point. Never had a Mexican coke before, but there is an obvious true coke flavor that is better than the American high fructose version. It was off the beaten track and it’s a gem to visit. We will be going back.

I’m impressed by this spot! I savored the tastiest breakfast burrito and salsa I’ve had in a while. The tortilla chips were crisp, the burrito was top-notch, and the salsas had a delightful spiciness. The diverse selection of drinks they provide is also remarkable. You’ll be pleased – I highly recommend giving it a shot! You also have the option to personalize your breakfast burrito, and the owner is extremely welcoming. Get your day off to an exciting start. And the cherry on top – they’re open on Sundays!

I don’t know why this is so highly rated. You tell me if that looks good. The menu items look worse, unfortunately. It’s edible, but the pepper chunks are almost all black, there’s burning on the ham and eggs, the beans are watery, and the rice tastes chemically. What a strange dish. I’ll be avoiding this for a long time, there’s much better similar restaurants around. The environment’s OK, the staff is nice and accommodating. I think there’s just a lack of a good perception of quality cooking and preparation in this food.

Amazing, authentic, homemade Mexican food from scratch. I was blown away by the quality of the food here. It took a while for our food to be prepared but it was well worth the wait. I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for 5-star Mexican food in the Salt Lake area.

Very nice small restaurant, order the steak breakfast burrito, surprised it came with a side of rice and beans as well. The salsa was a 10 out 0f 10. Right down the street from a very popular mexican food spot but I think Julia’s is better priced and you don’t have to wait long.

I had the pleasure of dining at Julia’s Mexican Restaurant and I have to say, it was a truly outstanding experience. The house special pork ribs dish was the standout dish of the night – it was cooked to perfection and the meat was so tender that it practically fell off the bone. The flavor was simply amazing, with just the right amount of spice.
The rice and beans that came with the pork ribs were also fantastic. The rice was cooked to perfection and had a wonderful texture, and the beans were perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of creaminess. The combination of the pork ribs with the rice and beans was just perfect, and it made for an incredibly satisfying meal.
Overall, I would highly recommend Julia’s Mexican Restaurant to anyone who loves great food and a welcoming atmosphere. The house special pork ribs dish is an absolute must-try, and the rice and beans are the perfect complement to the dish. If you’re looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican dining experience in Salt Lake City, Julia’s is definitely the place to be!

Our go to Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake City. Why?! Coz it is the very best! Chicken enchilada, shrimp Ranchero are standout dishes. Pork (or beef?) soup, and pozeole are also really good. I also liked the seafood soup. The only thing we didn’t like is the flan and shrimp cerviche

This is the real deal. No chain restaurant here. Nothing but food inspired by the love of feeding people.
You can taste in places like this. I seek these places out and this is a gem.
Being from Arizona I am a self proclaimed Mexican food afficionado.
I encourage you to find it. Enjoy it. Ya, the iguana restaurants are good, but they are corporate and certainly fit the bill at times.
This is family, comfort. The real deal.
