My girls and I went out for a belated birthday dinner here. The Garlic Steak bite appetizer definitely stole the show in my opinion wonderful flavor so much so I was soaking up every last drop of the juices in the dish with my dinner roll. For my main course I ordered something I’ve never had..scallops and they were very good. I tried a little bit of my daughter’s salmon and it was great as was the onion soup my other daughter ordered. I took home some deserts and both the cheesecake and tiramisu were delicious. I don’t think the prices were too outrageous because all of our food was good and the service was excellent.

We’ve visited Mangia Bella at Elijah McLean’s twice now, always dining in the bar, and each time has been nothing short of fantastic. The food is consistently outstanding. Its fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

I especially love the cranberry orange salad; it’s bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The daily soups are always a treat that’s comforting, creative, and clearly made with care. And the Basque cheesecake? Absolutely divine! Creamy, rich, and the perfect ending to a great meal.

The atmosphere in the bar is warm and inviting, with attentive service that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It’s the kind of place that feels just as perfect for a relaxed weeknight dinner as it does for a special evening out.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for memorable food, a cozy setting, and top-notch hospitality.

What an amazing gem! The food was fabulous, well prepared, presented and fresh. We live in another part of Mo, and are so excited to find a true 4-5 star dining experience well worth the distance. Highly recommend the starter of bread and cheese, Gouda mushroom soup, and beet salad. So a wonderful respite from the holiday fare. Paired with the pomegranate cocktail with the Pinkley Bend gin instead of vodka. A wonderful Monday evening, we will be back.

Can’t remember the last time I left a negative review, but recent visit was soooo disappointing, felt the need for management to know. The most recent rehab to this beautiful historic landmark was awesome. Very nicely updated, quiet, comfortable setting, beautiful view. The food and service however, left much to be desired. Waitress seemed friendly and efficient when order was taken. Brought water and drinks. Food didn’t come until just under an hour, salads and soups came out same time as entrees, which seemed strange. Much confusion over who ordered what, and items brought out that no one ordered. Salads and soups were good, several ordered burgers, looked like Walmart frozen patties, so over cooked they were crispy, some ordered shrimp tacos, also very overcooked, shells so rubbery couldn’t be chewed. Not once offered more drinks or even water refills. No dishes bussed even though there seemed to be lots of workers milking around. This was mid afternoon, only a few tables occupied. Very sad, was really hoping for a nice meal, but won’t likely return.

The restaurant: highlights, the food! Steak tips for app, ceaser salad was crisp, and the chicken parm could arguably be the best I’ve ever had.
The drinks weren’t the best. Mojito perfect, marini very sweet.

Worth a try! Make a reservation.

We had a reservation for the main dining and they asked us if we would prefer the all seasons room, which was such a great decision on such a beautiful night. Our server Rose, was spectacular, friendly and fast and came over the perfect amount of times to where we weren’t pressured but also didn’t have to wait even a moment for anything we needed. The steak was amazingly tender, the sauce was prepared perfectly(even if I prefer a different flavor, I will still admit it was prepared and seasoned perfectly for what the meal was going for). The potatoes may have actually been the best potatoes I’ve ever tasted, the butter for the rolls definitely was and my fiancé absolutely loved both her drinks. Everything was amazing. Will be back for more soon!

This restaurant was wonderful. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary there. The food was excellent. Also the service. It was built in 1831 by a local Dr. Absolutly beautiful inside. When walking in I was imagining what it was like to live there. You can expect to spend approx. $50 per person. Maybe a little less depending what you select from the menu. I will say that if you have someone in your group that can’t do stairs this is not the place for you. Has a long staircase, about 15 steps. We definatly recommend.

The wait staff was a mix of capabilities. Our particular server had trouble remembering to bring food, fill water, etc. Never received rolls at all. Food was way overpriced for the quality. Chicken marsala was awful – linguine was not cooked well, stuck together and brussel sprouts were virtually raw. The sauce was not what you find on chicken marsala. Steak was cooked to medium rare, but flavor was not good. Tasted old and had a slight flavor of liver. The salads were blah. The only redeeming food item was the mushroom gouda soup. The price for this food was ridiculous. We will not return nor recommend.
