Blue Gate Bakery has become a weekly staple for our household. The town desperately needed a place like this and the breakfast sandwiches are the best that I’ve ever had. Our 8 year old daughter even orders two on Sunday so she can have one Monday morning as well. Everything I have ordered here has been absolutely delicious.

Pastry with house made whipped cream, lemon or Boston cream, and raspberries on top just melts in your mouth. After you cross the bridge, “pay the toll” by stopping at Blue Gate.

This bakery is AMAZING!! Holy cow. I drove over an hour to try this bakery since I heard nothing but good things. Nothing but AUTHENTIC baked goods. Everything smelled delicious, the aroma alone when you walk in is heavenly. The pastries were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Yobana and Bruce were friendly and helpful, making the entire visit enjoyable. Options, options! There are many wonderful treats here. You’ll have to come back multiple times to try them all.

This is a must-try if you haven’t had it before!
The hot cocoa was a work of art! the BEC was the best one ever.

This place is awesome. Exceptional quality baked goods and, hands down amidst some pretty good competition, the absolute best sausage egg and cheese sandwich in the area, all the way from Kent to the Mass border. The reason the sausage egg and cheese, or BEC if you prefer, is superior lies in the freshly baked bun as well as the quality of the local eggs. I love the sandwiches at both Gifford and Wilson’s down in Kent, but this one is better, primarily just for the bread. We also had cinnamon rolls (pictured below), awesome. Glad they are here and worth a drive or a stop by if you’re on Route 7

Someone told me that it is the best place in the area and turns out they are absolutely right! I ordered a BEC and that sandwich was very delicious and service was wonderful.

I decided to take some desserts home and I really regretted not ordering more, I couldn’t say which one is better than the other, everything they do at Blue Gate Bakery is on another level, I really recommend this place!!!

Best BEC I’ve ever had! And that’s coming from someone who’s living on Long Island.

Incredible, fresh pastries. Wow!

Don’t miss out!!! 10/10 recommend

Best bacon egg and cheese around…it’s the freshly baked rolls that make it next level although the eggs were cooked perfectly. Staff was incredibly nice as well

Arrived at 7:28–7:30am. Chain down, door open, no sign indicating closed. Was told to leave because it was ‘7:28’ instead of being allowed to wait a minute or helped. No flexibility or basic courtesy. Won’t be back.

The best egg sandwiches and French style baked goods in the Housatonic River valley bar none. The sausage rolls are quite tasty too. Heck, you can’t go wrong but do ask for cheddar on your egg sandwich if you’re not partial to the slightly incongruous default of American. Get there early for best selection and then take a spectacular hike up Pine Knob loop to work off the calories.
