I’m originally from Michigan, but I moved to Tennessee for college back in the mid-90s.
We have a long-standing tradition that whenever anyone in the family travels to Michigan for a visit, they have to bring back a dozen or so nutty donuts to Tennessee.
We almost always stop somewhere along the Michigan-Indiana border to pick up donuts. I’ve never been to Tom’s before, so I thought we’d give this place a try.
We arrived around 9 am, and I didn’t see any of the nutty donuts we usually get in the display case. However, when I asked if they sold nutty donuts, the young woman said they sold out of the ones they made that morning. Despite that, she said she would make some up for us. Around the same time, a coworker heard we were from out of town and said that she had a few more left in the back.
Now, when I saw their brand of nutty donuts, I was a little worried because they aren’t exactly the same as what we usually get. All worries were vanquished when I tried one on the drive home. They are just as good, if not better, than what we typically get.
I got a lemon-filled donut, too, and it was fantastic.
Since we were traveling, we inquired about using their restroom but they didn’t have a public bathroom but the young lady behind the counter directed us to a few places nearby that had public restrooms.
I was impressed.
Tom’s has incredible customer service and great-tasting donuts.
On our next trip north, we’ll definitely stop by Tom’s on the way back home for some donuts. I’m just upset that we didn’t buy more than we did. If I would have known they were this good, I would have picked up another dozen.

There $10 box deal for 15 donuts is great if you go in when they are still somewhat fresh. I’ve had issues with their hours. The box deal sign would say open but they would be closed. Donuts are good and much better than major chain stores.

You have a great product, BUT you are abusing your pricing power. About a decade ago you raised your price from 80 cents to $1. The simple note taped to the window said “Let’s make it simple…all donuts are a $1”. A 25% increase and I’m guessing your volume was unchanged and you started testing your pricing power and the power of your brand. Saw your Instagram and choose to give this feedback more privately. Brand management and pricing is a funny thing, good luck. Why did you do away with the BOGO gift card this Christmas?

The donuts I received was during their special at 3pm where you get 15 any donuts for 10$. The deal is great if you want to feed a large group. The quality of the donuts were good enough for me to share with others. These donuts are not out of this world or worth driving over an hour for in my opinion. I would still recommend anyone nearby to try this place if they haven’t.

OMG! My family and I went here for our first time today. The wonderful lady behind the counter suggested we warm up the Apple Pie donut and have with ice cream. She said, “it tastes just like apple pie” and boy was she right. Amazing. We will definitely stop in again soon.

I took a dozen to Bills Towing because they are wonderful & fairly priced. I have a suggestion. Marion, Ind. is exploding with growth so I would like to see Tom’s Donuts set up business in Marion.

To me it’s the best donut, this was my very first donut back in 1974 I think it was when I was a young child I remember Mom and Dad taking us down every Saturday and Sunday morning to get Tom’s Donuts before we hit the lake very good memories

I’m closer to the four corners Tom’s, so I only visit this place during the off season. They’re always ready to take large orders, but sometimes it can take some time to get the order straight.
